This is a timeline of events that occurred on Earth-515 during the 1940s.

1940[]

  • The Human Torch adopts the human name of Jim Hammond and becomes a police officer in New York City.

22nd[]

  • Fred Raymond has his 16-year-old son Thomas go through the process of Terrigenesis, awakening his Inhuman pyrokinetic powers. Victoria Murdock, an Inhuman assassin sent by Jiaying to guarantee the existence of the Inhumans was kept a secret, attempts to kill the family, but Thomas is able to survive. The Human Torch fights against her and she flees, but she is able to ultimately kill Fred and Nora.
  • Hammond then adopts Thomas, who becomes the Human Torch's sidekick known as Toro.

April[]

1st[]

  • Atlantis' prince, Namor Neptunos, attempts to destroy New York City believing the Americans to be the source garbage leftovers that were thrown into the ocean. He fights against the Human Torch and Toro, but after the duo realize the Atlantean is no villain, they stop the fight and help Namor discover that were the Nazis the true origins of the leftovers. Namor then apologizes and becomes good friends with the Torch and Toro, becoming a superhero as well known as The Sub-Mariner, as he begins to fight against the Nazis.

  • At Castle Kaufmann in the Bavarian Alps, Abraham Erskine injects Johann Schmidt with his Super Soldier Serum, but the serum horrifically transforms Schmidt, turning him into the Red Skull.

13th[]

  • Rescue of Abraham Erskine: Abraham Erskine is rescued by Peggy Carter, who had infiltrated the compound disguised as a maid. Carter takes Erskine to the Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR) so he can produce America's Super Soldier with the aid of Howard Stark.

  • Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes visit a U.S. Recruiting and Induction Center in New York City, but Rogers is classified as 4F and rejected from service. He goes on to be rejected a further four times in four different cities.

  • Destruction of Castle Rock Tower:
    • Johann Schmidt, discovering that Tønsberg, Norway is the resting location of the Tesseract, leads a group of soldiers there in search of it.
    • Schmidt orders his men to search the town, then arrives at Castle Rock Tower, finding a Church Keeper guarding it. Schmidt tells the Church Keeper that in return for telling him the location of the Tesseract, he will spare the people of Tønsberg. Schmidt kills the Church Keeper and orders his men to open fire on the town after finding Tesseract. He refers to it as "the jewel of Odin's Treasure Room" before taking it for himself.

  • Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes attend the World Exposition of Tomorrow, witnessing Howard Stark's presentation about a flying car. During the presentation, Rogers goes to another recruitment office, and is witnessed by Abraham Erskine. Barnes returns to the Expo, leaving Rogers at the recruitment office.
  • Erskine approaches Rogers, asking him if he wishes to kill Nazis, Rogers replies that he does not wish to kill anyone, and that he does not like bullies. This impresses Erskine, who offers Rogers a chance at military service through Project Rebirth.

15th[]

  • At Camp Lehigh, New Jersey, Rogers and several other volunteers begin their training under the supervision of Erskine, Peggy Carter, and Colonel Chester Phillips.

21st[]

  • While Steve Rogers does push-ups with the other recruits, Chester Phillips throws a dummy grenade at them. Rogers throws himself at the granade, ready to sacrifice his life to save his fellow soldiers.
  • That night, Abraham Erskine explains the effects of the Super Soldier Serum to Rogers, telling him that he was chosen due to his good heart and his compassion. Rogers promises to Erskine that he will never change who he is, and that he will stay a good man.

22nd[]

  • Steve Rogers is escorted by Peggy Carter to the Strategic Scientific Reserve Brooklyn Facility, in preperation for Project Rebirth.
  • Assassination of Abraham Erskine:
    • With Erskine's serum and Howard Stark's Vita Radiation technology, Steve Rogers is transformed into the world's first super soldier. Erskine is assassinated by Heinz Kruger, an operative of HYDRA. The only hope of replicating Project Rebirth's success is in Rogers' genetic code. Kruger runs away, managing to get to a subarine, but is caught by Rogers, who, using his newfound powers, manages to chase him down. Kruger commits suicide with a cyanide pill.

23rd[]

  • Given the name 'Captain America' he becomes a national celebrity, appearing in films, comic books and card collections and establishing himself as a symbol of America's participation in the war.

  • Captain America and the Star Spangled Singers do a show in Italy, but the crowd is not amused by Rogers. After the show, Rogers talks with Peggy Carter, who tells him that the 107th Infantry Regiment, including Bucky Barnes has been captured by HYDRA. Rogers asks Chester Phillips about a rescue plan. Phillips replies that there is no rescue plan. Rogers, upset by this, departs for Austria with help from Carter and Howard Stark.
  • Liberation of Allied Prisoners of War:
    • Rogers sneaks inside the Austrian HYDRA Weapons Facility, in search of the Allied prisoners. During his search, Rogers memorizes a map of HYDRA facility locations and obtains a sample of the power source HYDRA was using. Rogers soon finds Nicholas Fury, Dum Dum Dugan, Gabe Jones, Jim Morita and many other prisoners, freeing them all. The allied prisoners use HYDRA's own weaponry against them.
    • Johann Schmidt initiates the building's self destruct sequence, while he and Arnim Zola escape.
    • After battling through a number of HYDRA agents, Rogers finds Barnes, in Zola's lab, rescuing him. The pair discuss Rogers' Super Soldier Serum transformation, during which, the building begins to egnite.
    • While attempting to evacuate, Barnes and Rogers encounter Schmidt, who remarks that he was always Abraham Erskine's greatest success, removing his prosthetic mask. Schmidt and Zola evacuate the building.
    • During the chaos, Rogers, Barnes and hundreds of other Allied prisoners escape the facility.

  • Howard Stark examines a sample of HYDRA's power, which will help him develop a framework to synthesize a new element. Steve Rogers meets with Stark, and is outfitted with a new uniform and a Vibranium shield.

  • Capture of Arnim Zola:
    • The Invaders board a HYDRA train, on a mission to capture HYDRA scientist Arnim Zola. Once inside, the group split up, Rogers and Barnes head into the train and are meet with many HYDRA agents using Tesseract powered weapons. During the conflict, Rogers uses his shield to block an incoming blast, creating a hole in the side of the train. Before Rogers can grab him, Barnes falls from the train, and is thought dead. The Human Torch and The Sub-Mariner try without success to find him.
    • Wolverine, who had been sneaking along the top of the train, reaches Zola, and captures him.
  • Barnes is found by HYDRA agents infiltrating the Soviet army and taken to the Soviet Union, where he is mind controlled by a HYDRA faction and turned into their personal assassin: the Winter Soldier.

5th[]

  • Attack on HYDRA Headquarters:
    • Captain America attacks the HYDRA Headquarters alone on his motorcycle which he uses to blow up the doors to the base. He has a quick fight before being surrounded and captured by HYDRA forces. He is taken before Red Skull but before he can be executed, the rest of The Invaders, alongside the Howling Commandos, zip-line through the window as Colonel Chester Phillips attacks the main gate. Red Skull retreats to the hangar and Rogers follows.
    • Red Skull flees the scene and is followed by Rogers, Phillips and Carter. Red Skull boards the Valkyrie, attempting to enact his plan.
    • Phillips and Carter drive Johann Schmidt's Coupe, giving Rogers a ride, Carter gives Rogers a kiss, before Rogers leaps onto the plane, seconds before takeoff.
  • Battle in the Valkyrie:
    • Once aboard the plane, Captain America discovers the bombs, and is attacked by various HYDRA agents. Rogers quickly dispatches the agents before they can board the bombs and take off in them. Rogers uses the maned bomb through the front windshield of the Valkyrie.
    • Now faced with Red Skull, Rogers battles him, during the battle, the Valkyrie's controls are damaged. Red Skull laments to Rogers that he has seen the future, and it has no flags, Rogers replies that that isn't the case in his future. Red Skull grabs the Tesseract, in an attempt to use its power, but is banished to distant planet Vormir, where he is cursed to be the guardian of the Soul Stone until 2018.
    • Rogers quickly takes control of the plane, calling Carter, telling her that his only option to stop the bombs is to crash the plane, due to its autopilot sending it to New York City. Carter plans a date with Rogers for next Saturday, as Rogers flies the plane into the ground, where he would remain frozen for nearly 70 years, surviving thanks to the Super Soldier Serum in his organism. Rogers' radio cuts out, which brings Carter to tears.

  • The Human Torch invades Hitler's bunker in Berlin and kills the Führer.

May[]

  • Sana is born to Aisha and Hasan in British-Occupied India.

September[]

  • Thaddeus Ross is born.

  • World War II ends.
