  • Jones Family Car Crash: 14-year-old Jessica Jones, her parents, Brian Jones and Alisa Jones, and her 10-year-old brother, Phillip Jones leave for an Easter vacation to Florida. Her father gets distracted, due to a fight between Jessica and Phillip over a video game, causing their car to crash with a truck that is carrying a container of chemicals. The Jones family die in the crash. Eventually, the corpse of Jessica is retrieved by IGH, they do experiments on her resurrecting her, but giving her powers as a side effect.
  • Talent agent Dorothy Walker pays IGH for Jones' medical bills while she is comatose, hoping to adopt her as a publicity stunt to promote her daughter Patsy's television show.

  • After awakening from her coma, Jessica Jones overhears Trish "Patsy" Walker talking about the fact Jones' parents and brother are all dead. Right after, Jessica Jones is adopted by the Walker family.

  • The Facility creates the mutant clone X-23 using DNA of both Logan Howlett/Wolverine and doctor Sarah Kinney in their wishes to have their own personal assassin with Wolverine's powers. Growing attached to the girl, doctor Kinney secretly baptizes her as "Laura".

  • The Summers' personal plane is attacked by a Shi'ar scout ship during a family trip to Alaska. Seeking to save their children, Katherine Summers pushes Scott and Alex out of the plane with the only parachute on board.
  • Christopher and Katherine are abducted and taken to space. Meanwhile, while falling, Scott's latent mutant powers first manifest and he shoots concussive beams from his eyes, lessening the impact of the fall. However, Scott hits his head on a rock once he hits the ground, which would cause his powers to be defective in the future.
  • Once they are taken to Shi'ar space, Christopher and Katherine are taken to the presence of Emperor D'Ken. D'Ken expresses his wishes to make Katherine part of his harem and attempts to assault her. Christopher stands up to defend his wife and attacks D'Ken, but is hold back by Shi'ar guards. To teach Christopher a lesson, D'Ken then kills Katherine in front of him by ripping out their unborn baby - whose existence was unknown for both of them - from her womb. He then orders for Christopher to be imprisoned. Later, unbeknownst to Christopher, D'Ken puts the baby in an incubator, where he is matured into teenagehood. Once the process is complete, D'Ken baptizes him "Gabriel" and sells him to slavery.

  • After 5 years, John Garrett returns to Grant Ward.
  • Some time after their reunion, Garrett tells Ward he has been accepted into S.H.I.E.L.D. and will operate within as a sleeper agent for HYDRA.
  • Garrett explains to Ward that being an agent of HYDRA will be very difficult, and that having attachments to anything or anyone is a weakness. Garrett then instructs Ward to kill Buddy, the dog who had helped him survive the wilderness for years. Ward looks Buddy in the eyes, unable to shoot him while looking him in the eyes. He instead has Buddy go fetch, using his sniper rifle to shoot him.

  • Molly Hayes is born to Gene and Alice Hayes in Los Angeles, California.

2008[]

  • After decades in hiding from the Kree, Skrull princess Anelle is finally found by Talos, who reveals that the Kree-Skrull War had suffered a turn, and that the Skrulls had found allies on Earth, such as Nick Fury and Carol Danvers - the superhero known as Captain Marvel. With this revelation, Anelle finally allows herself to give birth to her child. She adopts a new form and the human name of Mary-Jo Altman, becoming a real estate agent in New York City.
  • Grant Ward becomes an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., secretly working for HYDRA as an infiltrated agent.

13th[]

  • Tony Stark's plane lands at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. Stark greets the generals and prepares for his presentation of the Jericho repulsor missiles.
  • As Stark presents the Jericho, he explains the specifics of the weapon, remarking that America and his father are both feared and respected. He then demonstrates the weapon's capabilities, decimating the side of a nearby mountain.
  • After the successful presentation, Stark drinks as he sells Jericho missiles to the United States Air Force and readies for the trip back to base. Stane calls Stark, who tells him that the sale was successful. Rhodes attempts to join Stark, who cuts him off and asks him to use a different Humvee.
  • Kidnapping of Tony Stark:
    • Stark is driven back to base by a military convoy and jokes with the soldiers. Suddendly, the Humvee in front of them explodes due to an attack by the Ten Rings.
    • The Ten Rings take Stark captive, keeping him in a cave. While Stark is unconscious, fellow inmate, Ho Yinsen works to save Stark's life by implanting a small electromagnet into his chest, keeping the shrapnel from his heart. Yinsen attaches the magnet to a car battery to power it. Stark screams in pain as Yinsen finishes the surgery.
    • Stark wakes up in the cave, and attempts to move, but Yinsen advises against it. Stark realizes that he is connected to a car battery powering a magnet in his chest.
    • Yinsen makes dinner as he explains the magnet to Stark, telling him that the shrapnel would kill Stark in a matter of days were it not for the magnet. Stark realizes that they are on camera, and Yinsen mentions when he and Stark had met, but Stark does not remember. The conversation is interrupted by Abu Bakaar welcoming Stark and instructing him to build a Jericho missile in exchange for his life. Stark refuses, but is dunked underwater until he complies.
  • Bakaar and his men carry Stark outside the cave, to show Stark their supply of Stark Industries weapons, explaining that once the Jericho is finished, Stark will be set free. Bakaar shakes Stark's hand as Stark and Yinsen agree that Bakaar is lying about releasing him.

17th[]

  • Stark and Yinsen begin to secretly built a mechanical battle suit powered by the Arc Reactor.

May[]

1st[]

  • The Mark I Armor is finally finished. Stark and Yinsen use it to try and escape the Ten Rings, but Yinsen ends up being killed by the terrorists in the process.
  • Stark fights his way out of the cave and battles against the enemies. After defeating them, he is able to fly away. His flight is captured by S.H.I.E.L.D.'s radars, and Nick Fury, concluding that it could be the first solid lead that they've gotten on Stark, orders agent Sitwell to notify the United States Department of Defense.
  • After crashing into the sand, Stark takes off the armor, finding it to be destroyed.
  • Stark wanders through the desert overnight.
  • Stark continues his trek through the desert until he is found by the United States Air Force and finally taken back home.

3rd[]

  • Returning to the U.S. and deeply affected by his experience, Tony pulls Stark Industries out of the weapons business, terminating all military contracts.

6th[]

  • Eva Belyakov, a member of the Inhuman community in Afterlife, goes rogue after Jiaying refuses to allow Belyakov's unstable daughter, Katya, to go through Terrigenesis. She takes with her an assortment of stolen Terrigen Crystals, which she uses to transform Katya without the proper mental conditioning. Katya develops sensory manipulating powers and a hunger for pain. The mother-daughter duo travel to Bahrain, where they create chaos by using Katya's powers to sap the emotional energies from local civilians.

15th[]

  • Rescue in Bahrain:
    • S.H.I.E.L.D. takes notice of Eva Belyakov's activities and tracks her down to Manama, Bahrain. A team led by Phil Coulson and Melinda May is dispatched to analyze Belyakov for the Index; they are unaware of Katya's involvement or powers.
    • Eva and Katya Belyakov assume control of a group of gangsters and hold the entire S.H.I.E.L.D., minus Coulson and May, hostage within a warehouse. May ventures into the warehouse alone and crosses off the controlled gangsters and Eva. Katya reveals herself to May and nearly uses her powers to kill the subjugated S.H.I.E.L.D. team, forcing May to shoot her dead. For her role in saving them, the S.H.I.E.L.D. team gives May the nickname "The Cavalry", a moniker she grows to despise.
  • Jiaying and Gordon travel to Manama with the intention of dealing with Eva and Katya themselves, but find that S.H.I.E.L.D. has already killed them.

16th[]

  • Melinda May returns to the United States, traumatized by the ordeal in Manama. She shuts herself off from everyone, including her husband Andrew Garner. Over time, their marriage falls apart. With approval from Maria Hill, May switches from field duty to a simple desk job.

  • Mutant Charles Xavier opens his Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters as a private institute to welcome and train young mutants, with the facade of being a school for young geniuses and prodigies. His first student is Scott Summers.

November[]

17th[]

  • Tony watches an attack by the Ten Rings in Gulmira on the news, and decides to act. He wears his uptaded suit and forces the Ten Rings out of Afghanistan, starting his career as the superhero Iron Man.

24th[]

  • Stark discovers it was his partner Obadiah Stane who hired the Ten Rings to kidnap him in order to become the head of Stark Industries. They fight each other, Iron Man's suit against Stane's. At the end of the battle, Stane is killed by the detonation of Howard Stark's industrial reactor.

25th[]

  • Tony Stark reveals to the world he is Iron Man.
