Adam Warlock was created by the Sovereign leader known as Ayesha in order to crush the Guardians of the Galaxy. During his confrontations with said group, Adam evolved beyond this purpose and abandoned the pursuit of the heroes becoming a cosmic wanderer and occasionally assisted several heroes before pursuing a romantic relationship with Max Maledze.

- Cosmic Enhanced Sovereign/Asgardian Physiology: Designed to be the next step in the evolution of the Sovereign, he was crafted from the genetic attributes of multiple highly developed species including the DNA of an Asgardian warrior for physical attributes like strength and the DNA of the Sovereign monarch, Ayesha, for intelligence. Both of which gestated in an advanced maturation chamber that also established the base foundations for his Symbiotic Bond with the Soul Stone that was included so that he would possess mystic power in addition to intelligence and strength. From this experience, it has formed a willing, mutually beneficial connection with Adam, giving him the ability to sense its whereabouts at will if removed from his body and withstand the effects of another user of the Soul Stone by simply absorbing the energy, rendering himself stronger. Adam has been stated to be comparable to that of some of the most potent individuals in the universe such as Silver Surfer or Thor. Given that he was released from his cocoon pre-maturely, it can be assumed that his full potential has yet to be reached.
- Superhuman Intelligence: Sovereign have vastly superior mental parameters compared to other species which allows him to essentially act in computational levels such as by processing, reacting, memorising, deducing, analysing, and simply comprehending to surreal levels, able to access any thought far faster and more efficiently than others. From this, he can learn lifetime's worth of knowledge and academics within no time at all with no loss of information.
- Acute Genealogical Perception: Similar to his genetic material donator, Ayesha, he has the ability to discern any unique qualities residing in the biological makeup of a person within his vision. This subsequently enables Adam to distinguish a target’s species or any anomaly residing in their body.
- Quantum Magic: Thanks to the Soul Stone and his unique bond with it, he has developed a potentially new kind of Magic. It draws strength from two different dimensions with the first being the space beyond the Subatomic scale within the quantum layer beneath reality referred to as the Quantum Realm. The second is the unique pseudo-astral, pseudo-afterlife realm known as “Soulworld” which is a pocket dimension existing inside the very Infinity Stone dwelling within Adam Warlock. As so, it can be considered a form of Dimensional Thaumaturgy similar to the Eldritch Arts but operating under different rules and mechanics, meaning the limitations and capacities are different. As long as he is the wielder of the soul stone, he is the most powerful source and user of quantum magic in the cosmos, practically being a beacon for other users.
- Size Manipulation: Using a technique similar to that of Ant-Man, Adam Warlock is capable of growing to the maximum size of 217 and a 1/2 feet tall. While in his giant form, his strength is vastly elevated to the point of being able to easily rip the heaviest and most secure buildings off the ground and snap them in half. At least, theoretically according to Rocket Racoon.
- Flight: Due to possessing 100% control over his body on the molecular level, Adam Warlock is able to reduce his body mass thereby simulating flight and allowing for the defying of gravity at hypersonic speeds.
- Energy manipulation: Adam Warlock has the ability to harness and control an orange-yellow form of intense cosmic energy that is fueled/derived from the Infinity Stone, Soul Stone, residing inside of his body. He could use this to conjure swords and shields of said energy as well as project beams and other distanced attacks. At casual intensity, a sustained beam is capable of reducing advanced alien biology into ash. At present, he is only using 8.7% of his total theoretical energy output due to being released from his maturation chamber early.
- Healing: As his body absorbs energies at an unprecedented rate from the Quantum realm, he is able to manipulate the structure of living organisms on the atomic level. With this, Adam can heal mortals from wounds such as grievous ones that are possibly fatal as well as alleviate pain and temporarily raises the temperature, helping burn out infection much like a fever does. He can also use this in case of minor health concerns or illnesses such as headaches, as well as for recovery from magical or hallucinogenic properties. While healing an individual, the Soul Stone allows him to feel that person’s spirit enabling him to experience every moment of powerful emotion, sensation, and desire of that persons life.
- Cosmic awareness: As an entity possessing an Infinity Stone, he is considered a cosmic being and as so has highly acute senses that allow Adam to perceive both cosmic and mystic occurrences, see auras, and invisible forces like ions or atoms and at one point counted oxygen molecules while bored.
- Teleportation: Possibly stemming from his connection to the Quantum Realm, described as quantum tunnelling but also using the Quantum dimension as a mid-way point, he has the ability to transport himself and anyone in his line of sight from one location to another without inhabiting the space in between. There does not appear to be any unknown limit on how far he can travel using this ability as he could teleport several light-years with no visible effort or difficulty.
- Astral projection: Adam Warlock has the ability to separate his spiritual consciousness from his corporal body becoming intangible and ghost-like while gaining access to the Astral plane. This stems from the Soul Stone.
- Telepathy: He is capable of perceiving and interacting with the mind, consciousness, and thoughts of others using his own mind thus being able to read & sense another person's thoughts, communicate with them mentally, and et cetera. However, he confirmed he does not have the power to mind control, someone, into doing something against their will, unlike other Magic users.
- Superhuman Strength: He has vastly superior levels of physical strength compared to that of many galactic species including normal Humans, Sovereign, Frost Giants, Kree, Skrull, and common Asgardians. Adam’s muscles are further enhanced by the Soul Stone without physical change such as increased mass. This allowed him to duel on par with that of Thor - an elementally empowered Royal Asgardian and the son of Odin Borson. However, Adam does have a limitation on his enormous strength as he is unable to use his full might while experiencing the absence of a solid surface such as in mid-flight.
- Superhuman Durability: Adam’s body is far denser than that of humans and even many different species throughout the galaxies due to his partial Asgardian nature that is augmented through the energies of the Soul Stone. This allows him to withstand immense levels of physical and energy damage with no visible harm upon his form such as; the vacuum of space, impacts, crushing weights, electrical shocks, flames, and extreme temperatures.
- Superhuman Speed: He has the ability to run and move at great speeds far exceeding that of even Olympic-level humans, able to break the sound barrier which would require a speed of 343 metres per second. While his top speed is unknown, he is so fast that he can perceive the environment as though time has significantly slowed down allowing him to perceive what would normally be moving too fast to see and respond accordingly.
- Superhuman Agility: Adam naturally possesses far greater agility, equilibrium, flexibility, dexterity, balance, and body coordination than any normal human being.
- Superhuman Stamina: He has a vastly more advanced musculature structure that produces far fewer fatigue toxins during physical activity than other species with this endurance allowing Adam to exercise at maximum capacity for an extremely long period of time without tiring at all.
- Longevity: While not technically immortal, he ages exceptionally slowly to the point where it may be halted entirely and it is stated he could live for at least 10,000 years if not longer. Which is roughly twice as long as common Asgardians.
- Regeneration: Despite his body's resistance, Adam can still be injured yet his metabolism/accelerated healing factor enables him to rapidly recover damaged bodily tissue with far greater speed and efficiency than others.

While arguably one of the most powerful creatures in the universe, possibly the multiverse, Adam nevertheless has a number of vulnerabilities and other weaknesses such as the following:
- Magic: Despite his resilience and his own magic, he is still susceptible to the effects of Magic being used against him and could be; banished to alternate dimensions, bound preventing escape or movement, and his body could be penetrated by sharp magic possibly to the point of death.
- Alter Ego: A drawback from possessing the Soul Stone. Adam Warlock contains great inner darkness that manifests as a negative reflection existing as a creature of darkness and evil in comparison to Adam being an entity of light and compassion. It has been named “Dark Adam” by the Guardians of the Galaxy and apparently whispers into his ear when using Quantum Magic most notably when healing.
