Physical Appearance[]
Agatha appears as a attractive women of white complexion in her mid-to-late forties with blue eyes, luscious brunette hair, a 5 foot 6 inch stature, a wide smile, and over the top facial expressions.
Powers and Skills[]
Powers[]
- Magic: In exchange for her teaching Wiccan, Maximoff promised to reawaken Agatha's magical gene therefore giving her powers back which he eventually did, albeit, restored Agatha to using pure witchcraft rather than dark magic and at a severely reduced level. Now, she has to build back up her strength and retrain herself.
- Pyrokinesis (limited): Using a spell, Agatha conjured fire to lit several torches ablaze. She claimed it's the most she can do right now until she gets stronger.
Former Powers[]
- Master Sorceress: She is an extremely powerful sorceress capable of channeling mystical energy for a variety of effects by using verbal invocations as a medium through which to conduct said effects. According to her, some of her dark powers took years of studying to learn and master. Agatha's yearning for even more power coupled with being extensively well-trained and honed in the occult made her a very dangerous force to be reckoned with. Due to absorbing the power of her entire coven as well as numerous other practitioners throughout the centuries, Agatha has become one of the most powerful witches in the world though not strong enough to directly challenge the Sorcerer Supreme Dr. Strange. Currently, Agatha was rendered mortal and powerless due to the Scarlet Witch absorbing her magic.
- Energy Sensing: Agatha was initially drawn to the Westview Anomaly after sensing the afterglow of its complex network of spells cast all at once. She could also sense an inherent spark within William Maximoff.
- Magic Manipulation: Born to Evanora Harkness, her Salem heritage provided a “spark” - a genetic disposition, enabling Agatha to access mystical energy that her body passively produced similar to how normal humans produce carbon dioxide as a byproduct. This gene was courtesy of the Faltine. Agatha's original energy signature was luminescent blue mist, a result of her aura and alignment denoting purity of thought and intent, but after tapping into the "darkest" magic which included harnessing energy from the Dark Dimension for a boost to her tainted power, her signature changed to luminescent violet mist mixed with black smoke/vapour. Dark Magic draws on malevolent forces and energies demanding a large sacrifice in exchange for power which Agatha fulfilled by embracing the darkest desires of her heart - what she loves the most, what she cherishes, the darkness lingering in her heart, and surrendering to it. Agatha's drive was her lust for power and envy which was reflected in the corrupting nature of her dark magic. As a result of prolonged usage, black necrosis is seen on her fingers yet only when actively performing feats of considerable merit and after obtaining the Darkhold she used it to amplify her already augmented powers, enhancing several of her spells. When she absorbed Chaos Magic, her dark purple/black energy was infused with red highlights.
- Energy Manipulation: Agatha has the ability to shape her signature dark purple mystical energy into tangible constructs and utilize them for a plethora of purposes.
- Binding Generation: When initially confronting Wanda Maximoff, she conjured magical bindings around her wrists and ankles to restrain her by casting "Nectae Artis Magicus". She later reversed the spell by casting "Liberatio". Similarly, she was able to conjure magical strings to hold William and Tommy Maximoff by their necks though the spell was cast off screen.
- Telekinesis: Agatha has demonstrated the ability to control matter as well as energy and was able to close a door with a single movement of her fingers as well as break energy binds placed on her by her coven during her trial. After conjuring the Darkhold, Agatha was able to browse the pages about the Scarlet Witch inside it without physically touching the book. During her confrontation with Wanda, she lifted several S.W.O.R.D. operatives a few stories into the air, outlining them with purple energy, before dropping them and letting Maximoff catch them with her own power. She could also freeze a hailstorm of bullets from Monica Rambeau.
- Flight: She arrived flying to Westview and after being knocked over by Maximoff's energy blast, she was able to raise herself back onto her feet. She was able to fly at length during her confrontation against Scarlet Witch.
- Energy Absorption: Similar to Baron Mordo's eldritch technique that severs one from calling upon any outside force, Agatha has the ability to effectively siphon the mystical energy from another user of magic even if it is inherent within them. However, due to witches magic being explicitly linked to their life force this has the effect of ageing the affected target until death. This was evidently capable of killing off Agatha's entire coven and could even absorb/convert even Chaos Magic from the Scarlet Witch. Additionally, it appears as though this only works when offensive magic is used against her allowing Agatha to not only withstand attacks but gain strength from them instead.
- Magic Pollution: When Agatha's coven fired their magic at her in the forms of blue beams, she was able to infect it, transforming it into a violet colour before absorbing it into her body.
- Longevity: After absorbing the magic from the witches of her own coven, Harkness is able to live far beyond a normal human lifespan, having survived for at least three hundred and twenty-five years.
- Energy Bolts: She was capable of launching powerful bolts of purple mystical energy from her hands by casting spells such as "Reyli". It was so intense that even when reflected was powerful and destructive enough to destroy the the stage of the city square. Later after absorbing the Chaos Magic from Scarlet Witch’s energy bolts, she was able to fire projectiles made of Chaos Magic and her Dark Magic combined with no spell needed.
- Mental Manipulation: Her magic allows her to interact with and control the minds of others similar to the Scarlet Witch by casting the spell: "Teneo Imperium Anime". This allowed her to take command of animals, Ralph Bohner, and etc. When Wanda tried to trap her in an illusion of her trial by her coven, she was skilled enough to turn the illusion against her, causing the corpses of her fellow witches to attack and briefly subdue the Scarlet Witch. Furthermore by casting: "Quod Succurro Is Turbatus Animus", she was able to make everyone mind controlled by Wanda Maximoff in Westview regain free will.
- Memory Viewing: By casting "Repete Memoria", she was able to infuse magic into a strand of hair from Wanda Maximoff thereby making it glow and was able to play back the most important moments of her life story while seeing it from the view of a third party in the same room as the memory happened as if they were actually there but unseen thus not altering the original memory.
- Transmutation: She was able to change her appearance and witch costume for that of a normal neighbour. She was also able to change a cicada into a bird and back by casting "Reformator Figura". In her witch form, Harkness' fingers turn black.
- Necromancy: Harkness considered animating the body of Pietro Maximoff as an attempt to get close to Maximoff, but declined the option due to it being on another continent and heavily damaged.
- Conjuration: Harkness was capable of causing the Darkhold to materialize out of a small purple and black portal to read the description of Maximoff's future as the Scarlet Witch before sending it back through it. She was able to conjure a cupcake that appeared in a puff of purple smoke while demonstrating magic to Wanda.
- Energy Manipulation: Agatha has the ability to shape her signature dark purple mystical energy into tangible constructs and utilize them for a plethora of purposes.
- Teleportation: Agatha has the ability to teleport herself and others from one location to another without physically inhabiting the space in between, leaving a distinctive purple smoke each time she uses this ability. This does not always require an incantation but rather mere thought.
- Sound Manipulation: Agatha was able to blackmail Wanda, by giving her access, to the sounds of her children's screams, while they remained elsewhere.
- Runic Magic Manipulation: In addition to her dark magic, Agatha is also adept in sigils, symbols, and runes.
- Protection Spell: Using a basic protection spell via magic runes on the walls of the structure beneath her house, Harkness was able to neutralize Maximoff's Chaos Magic. As she explains to Maximoff, only the person who cast this spell can use magic in the radius of the protection spell range.
- Psionic Resistance: Agatha is able to resist telepathic intrusion and reality manipulation to a degree, as she was able to live inside the Westview Anomaly without it truly changing her or affecting her mind. Additionally, neither Billy nor Wanda Maximoff was able to sense her thoughts, with the latter's attempts to trap Harkness in an illusion failing to harm or restrain her, as Harkness simply took control over it away from Maximoff.
Abilities[]
Agatha is an expert tactician as she was able to manipulate events within the Westview Anomaly for at least a week, right down to the plots of the sitcom, all while pretending to be enthralled by Wanda Maximoff and hiding her true nature as a witch.
She can also fluently speak both English and Latin which she uses to perform magical spells that require incantations.
Threat Level[]
Unknown but very high yet inferior in raw power to Doctor Strange or Scarlet Witch likely including Wiccan.
Superior to her son, Nicholas Harkness-Scratch and thereby Sebastian Kline.
Weaknesses[]
TBA
