Alexei Romanov, born as Alexei Manorovsky and using his current alias Alex Manor, was an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.. The son of Ivan Petrovich Bezukhov and Milena Manorovsky, Alexei was the older brother of Nikita Manorovsky. After his father remained separate, Alexei recently moved into the United States of America with his mother and changed his surname to "Romanov", but had also used his alias "Alex Manor" while being recruited into S.H.I.E.L.D. and trained to become a highly skilled agent.
While his mother had been searching for his daughter until she was later assassinated by Viktor Egorav, Alexei remained in S.H.I.E.L.D. and spent the last couple of years of learning about Leviathan's Black Widow Ops Program. While stationed at Saint Petersburg, he met with Yulia Orlova and Anatoly Pavlov, and had been assigned to protect their daughter Ava. While Yulia and Anatoly were able to avoid Leviathan, Alexei was killed by a lone Black Widow assassin known as Sasha Koshkin.

For the last few months while protecting Ava, Alexei continued to remain in Moscow and was coming close in uncovering the location of his lost sister, thanks to his fellow contact Pyotr Usov. However, it turns out that Pyotr was secretly a spy working for Leviathan and sent a message to General Viktor Egorav of this. Upon receiving the message from his spy, General Egorav ordered Sasha Koshkin to eliminate him. The assassination was a success, for which Sasha was able to kill Alexei and even take the young Ava into Leviathan and train her to become a Black Widow assassin.
