At some point during the beginning of the apocalypse, Tony rejoined the Avengers to help fight against this zombie infection that came from the Microverse by accident. However, his efforts to stop this was fultile when he and his team were overrun and infected by the zombies. For the last two weeks as a zombie, Tony, along with the zombified Doctor Strange and Wong, intercepted the Black Order that arrived on Earth in search of the missing Infinity Stones for Thanos. After zombifying the Black Order, he tried to devour Bruce Banner, but were stopped by the Cloak of Levitation for a few moments to then be attacked by insects commanded by Hope van Dyne.

Consciousness Upgrade[]
However, before the apocalypse, it turns out that Tony had recently developed his own mainframe, in which he would upload his own consciousness incase of being killed in action. Eventually, after Tony's body was zombified and then killed by Hope Van Dyne, Tony's consciousness managed to find his ways into his own computer mainframe and spent the last few years in guiding survivors to the anti-zombie safe zone known as Madripoor.[1][2]
