Professor Anton Rodchenko was a programmer who worked for Leviathan and was part of the Black Widow Ops Program during the 1980s. After his daughter Tatiana, for whom he loved very much, was taken in by General Viktor Egorav to become one of the Black Widows, Anton's role in working for Leviathan was something he'd regretted, for which he brainwashed and implanted cover identities into the Widows before they would go on covert missions. He immediately abandoned his loyalty to Leviathan and joined the secret Russian peace-keeping agency known as S.I.C.K.L.E. that was once led by Director Vassily Grigorievich Rossovich. However, it turns out that Vassily was a traitor and was killed by Tamara Zaslon, who took his place. During his time in S.I.C.K.L.E., Anton secretly worked with Yulia Orlova and Anatoly Pavlov in creating the Red Dust, a gas used to free mind controlled victims from their subjugation.
Sometime following the establishment of the Sokovia Accords and the Avengers Civil War, Anton had assigned a former Widow assassin named Shara Lee to use the Red Dust to free a widow in Morocco. The mission was a success, but Shara was killed by Galina Anokhin until she managed to free her with another vial of the Red Dust. Shara's death wasn't in vain, for Galina, Natasha Romanoff, Alexei Shostakov, and Melina Vostokoff were able to free the Widows that were held in the Red Room Academy for years and eliminate Viktor Egorav. While in contact with people, such as Nick Fury and Melina Vostokoff, he proceeded to create more vials of the Red Dust to free the rest of the Widows all around the world. However, he became a victim of the Snap, but would be restored to life five years later by the Hulk and resume his life in the agency of S.I.C.K.L.E..
