Atticus Jaeger was a decorated Delta Force Operative and Soldier, having fought in the Iraqi and Afghanistan Wars and the War on Terror. In Twenty Thirteen he was captured by Hydra and experimented on using left over Tesseract Technology and Loki's Scepter, the resultant experiments changed him turning him into an Enhanced Human with many latent powers.

He would later join the Avengers as soon as Ultron began his war, and was the driving motivation for Wanda Maximoff to join, as the two had a long-standing romantic attachment formed through the experiments they endured together.

By the time of the Civil War, Atticus known as The Ghost was increasingly dissatisfied with being an Avenger and took a leave of absence.

When Infinity War began, Atticus was a signatory of the Sokovian Accords and was the commander of NATO Team Iron Battalion.

Following the Snap, and the death of Wanda, the love of his life, Atticus briefly slipped into alcoholism and substance abuse, before cleaning himself up when he and Black Widow began a relationship.

Background[]

Born into the Prestigious Jaeger Military Family, dating back seven Generations as far back as the War for Independence, Atticus was a military academy standout at West Point. His talents earned him an appointment to the Delta Force Program and the attention of both S.H.I.E.L.D and HYDRA.

When September 11 happened, Atticus happened to be nearby with his father and brothers, together they helped first responders and emergency personnel. His father would die from smoke inhalation during the rescues, causing a severe strain on his relationship with his brothers.
