August Wu was a magical guardian of Hong Kong and a member of the Masters of the Mystic Arts. Originally a much more traditional magic user, she was brought into contact with a normal lifestyle when she met and fell in love with Detective Sergeant Adam Gulliver in a case, and gave birth to a daughter named Alice. Howveer, her marriage didn't last long as she remained separate from her husband and daughter. Over the years, August recruited her daughter to join the secret order of magicians to combat threats. During the Infinity War, August and among many of the Magicians that were summoned by Wong to aid the Avengers and the armies of Wakanda when Thanos sent the Black Order and his army to retrieve the last stone from Vision. Hoping to hold the line once Thor and his allies arrived, August was among half of the universe's population that were killed by Thanos, leaving her daughter as one of the survivors.
