Ayla Ranefer was a young recruit who earned herself a place within HYDRA. As part of Baron Strucker's cell, she was injected with an imperfect version of the Super-Soldier serum that was created by Doctor Harry Hauser. The serum ended up deforming her face, making her look like the Red Skull of World War II. Wrapping herself up as a mummy, Ayla was known as Rotwrap and joined Sinthea Shmidt's D.O.A. as a way to get revenge.
Personality[]
After becoming disfigured and wrapping her entire body, Ayla was mainly a silent individual, but was known to be very deadly while working for the D.O.A. led by Sinthea Shmidt. Even though she was silent in a way, she is filled with no remorse for committing terrible actions and prefers to do anything to please her leader "Mother Superior".

- In the comics, Ayla was one of the original members of Hydra's D.O.A task force that battled the Nightstalkers.
- Ayla Ranefer is played by Laurel Marsden, who also played the character Rebecca St. Jude in the Ms. Marvel tv series.
