King Balder Odinson, also known as Balder the Brave, is an Asgardian warrior who served as the King of Asgardia. He also had a brother named Thor, an unworthy prince who was prone to violence, and an adopted brother named Loki. Following the destruction of Asgard, he led his people to safety while Surtur fulfilled the prophecy in destroying the realm. While he remained in Asgardia and ruled his people with love and dignity, Balder earned himself a place in the Illuminati and took part in the Infinity War against Thanos, but would sadly witness the execution of his friend Doctor Strange, who had chosen to sacrifice his life to save this universe from an Incursion.
For the last few years, Balder represented his people in the Illuminati and continued to honor his friend Stephen as a hero, despite the recent mistakes he made when he was corrupted by the Darkhold. When word was reached that another version of Strange came from a different universe, he was among the leaders that gathered at the Baxter Building and be ready to put this man on trial. However, the trial was paused when Wanda Maximoff, who had possessed her counterpart through dreamwalking, infiltrated the building to abduct Sofia. Balder tried to stop her, but was killed in the attack.
