Barbara Denton Norriss was a lawyer who was part-Human and part-Asgardian. The daughter of a wealthy human lawyer known as Alvin Denton and an asgardian named Celestia. After her father passed, Barbara swore to keep her family's fortune altogether, but would pass it along to relatives of the Denton family. At some point during the 1920s, Barbara started her career as a lawyer against her mother's wishes. Even while her mother had disappeared, Barbara traveled to the United States where she started a relationship with a man named Jackson Ford Norriss, a former soldier who had just returned from the war against HYDRA. However, she made an encounter with her old childhood friend Amora Incantare, who used her sorcery to turn Barbara into a giantess and Jackson into giant sea monster.
It turns out that Amora was forced to pay off her debt to the Grandmaster by finding over 200 champions over the years to fight and bring them to Sakaar. Before Barbara and her husband were about to confront her for what she did to them, Amora teleported them and herself to Sakaar, and had them brought to the Grandmaster, who cleared Amora's debt. While being forced to fight for the Grandmaster along with her husband, Barbara made an encounter with Thor Odinson, who was revealed to be the son of King Odin. While Thor had successfully planned his escape with the his team, she and her husband reunited after several decades of fighting and managed to escape the planet onboard a very capital Sakaaran ship that carried many rebels and prisoners that wanted to escape Sakaar as well.
During the Infinity War, Barbara was a victim of the Snap just before she and her husband were getting close to returning home on Earth, but five years later, she was restored to life by Hulk and fought in the battle of Earth against an alternate Thanos. After reuniting with her husband, Barbara settled in New Asgard and earned the privilege in becoming a member of the Valkyrior, which was restored by Queen Rūna. However, she resumed her career as a lawyer and began working for the law firm known as Fourth Wall Enterprises at the request of James Kurtzberg.

- Superhuman Strength: After her friend Amora accidently used some kind of magic which turned her into a 75 foot tall giant, Barbara still possessed superhuman strength.
