Scarlet Witch's War[]
Encounter With The Scarlet Witch[]
However, Cassie seemed to underestimate her power, for Wanda, who was now in possession of Sofia's power, managed to overpower her. Despite the Scarlet Witch being as powerful than ever, Cassie continued to fight her, but just Wanda opened a portal behind her and planned to leave this universe since she saw that her boys weren't born here in this universe. Cassie, despite not wanting to let her get away, leaped into the portal as well and continued to fight her while passing through various random realities. The Scarlet Witch immediately used her power to send Cassie into another universe.
Trapped In Another Universe[]
After her failed attempt to stop the Scarlet Witch, Cassie was stranded on a parallel universe and ended up on Earth. For hours, Cassie had been knocked out until she was found by the Illuminati, who then take her to their headquarters and be ready to ask her questions as to where she came from. The next day, Cassie woke up and found herself in a hospital bed, but turns to see a furry beastly individual known as Doctor Hank McCoy, who had been studying her. She demanded to know where she was, thus letting Hank explain to her that she is in another universe.
Meeting The Celestial Invader[]
- "Why do they keep you here?"
"Because that's what they're mean't to do. Its better this way. Ever since I've been here for over thirty-three years, I felt relieved so that way my dad wouldn't reach out to me. He had this power to get inside my head. Its like, he was taking my free will away." - ―Cassie Lang and Peter Quill
While being allowed to wander the Illuminati Headquarters, Cassie became very sneaky when she entered the underground chamber, which the Illuminati had stored the most dangerous intergalactic criminals on Earth. It was there that she would meet a young boy named Peter Quill, who was known as the "Celestial Invader" and had been kept in a highly secured stasis room for over thirty-three years. Cassie asked why the Illuminati keeps him here, in which Peter explains to her that his father Ego was trying to use him as a weapon in order to conquer countless worlds and have them terraformed into an extension of his father himself. However, it was when the Eternals, who had chosen to violate their oath and save every world at the behest of Eros, one of the founders of the Illuminati. Cassie asked if the Illuminati ever thought of setting him free, to which Peter sadly tells her that they haven't come to a decision since he's afraid that if he is out, then his father would be ready to take control over him again since he is the key to completing the Expansion.
Confused as to what the Expansion is, Cassie wanted to get an answer from Peter, but before Peter could tell her more, Doctor Reed Richards arrived with a group of Ultron Sentry Guards, who immediately escort her out of the chamber. Feeling sorry for the boy, Cassie still wanted an answer for this until Professor X joined her and decided to continue his explanation about Peter and Ego, and how he uses his power to keep Ego from reaching into his son. He explains to her how Peter's father was in control of a power, in which he can see and use his corporeal form to enter different universes from across the Multiverse. A few dozen universes he found were perfect for his expansion and countless lives were lost. Cassie asks Charles if there's any hope for Peter, to which he doesn't have an answer, but believes that Peter may one day have a future in becoming something more than a weapon used by his father. He also tells her that she might be the one person that could give Peter hope to resist Ego's power.
Escaping the Illuminati[]
Taking so much pity over Peter and taking Charles' words, Cassie believes that Peter deserves to be free, and as long as she is there for him, then it gives Peter the hope he needs to stand strong against his father's power. She sneaks to the underground chamber and managed to break the young celestial hybrid out of his stasis room, but when she did that, the alarm was set off which alerted Ultron Sentries, including the Illuminati members: Thor Odinson, Nebula, Reed Richards, Maria Rambeau and Peggy Carter, who all demand for Cassie to return Peter back to his cell before Ego takes control over him again.
Cassie refused, but before the Illuminati was ready to engage and capture the kids without lethal force, it turns out that Cassie had recently freed two Interdimensional Travelers, who were known to be the World Breaker Hulk and Hela. Thus, a fight broke loose, in which the Illuminati fight off against Hela and the World Breaker Hulk, thus giving Cassie and Peter to make their escape. While fighting off a number of Sentries guarding the front door, Cassie had a change of heart since she saw that the Illuminati were nearly getting themselves killed by Hela and World Breaker Hulk, who combined their power and strength to beat them. Even as Peter tried to convince her to make their escape, she tells him that there's a chance for him to use his power for good and reminds him that she will always be there to give him the hope he needs to resist his father. Confused at first, Peter agreed, and together, the kids return back and immediately rush in to stop Hela and World Breaker Hulk from harming Thor, Nebula, Reed Richards, Maria Rambeau, and Peggy Carter.
While Peter was using his power to distract them, this gave Cassie the chance to use her red discs to shrink the two dangerous criminals and placing them in a small containment module. Just as the rest of the Illuminati recover and begin to apprehend the two, Charles stops them and tells them to let the kids go as they earn their freedom together, for he once said to Cassie that she was the only person that gave Peter hope.
Wanda's Return[]
While remaining in this universe for the last three weeks, Cassie and Peter had been spending a lot of time together by exploring a lot of interesting places and doing different outdoor activities with their powers. As the two continued to spend a lot of time together, a bond was created out of genuine love and respect. Somewhere in a quiet, but peaceful neighborhood, Cassie and Peter had been walking and talking at the same time. Even when Peter began to ask her what her universe, Cassie tells him that its nothing compared to this one.
Before the two were about to kiss each other, a massive star-shaped portal opens up from the sky and coming down was Wanda Maximoff, who had recently had her previous encounter with Uatu in the Nexus of All Realities and found the perfect universe where her sons Billy and Tommy were. Both Cassie and Peter watch as Eros, Thor, Maria Rambeau, and Nebula arrive at the scene to confront Wanda and engage her in a fight, but due to her being giant in a way, she was able to use her powers to overpower the four.
As the four members of the Illuminati were beaten and nearly killed by Wanda, Cassie took 3 grow discs, put it in the regulator and the gaunltet of her suit and grew to giant form. While Peter stands on the top of her shoulder, Cassie goes to confront Wanda and tells her to leave them alone and to pick on someone whose size, to which Wanda, who was quite surprised to her here, pointed out that she was nearly her size. Cassie tells her that neither she or Peter want to fight her, but warns her that they will. Wanda tells her not, and then tells her that she doesn't belong in this universe and isn't willing to use her power to murder children.
Cassie tells her not to do this anymore and to stop being a monster, but Wanda tells her she isn't and reveals herself as a mother who is willing to protect them anytime they needed her, such as if they got sick. Cassie was confused, in which Wanda explains to her about her power and what she can really do: make people happy. Walking closer to them, shen then placed her hand over Cassie's cheek and can feel how the poor girl still misses her father. Cassie tells her not to mention her father's name, but Wanda gently asked her to sympathize with her while Peter begs Cassie not to listen to her. Ignoring the boy and telling to listen to her offer, Wanda tells her that if the two would help her reunite with her two sons, then she could send them to a universe where Scott is alive.
Touched by her words, Cassie begins to ask her that if she is given what she wants, then what would happen to the other version of herself. Wanda claims that she will help her, but that was when Cassie chose to refuse her offer since she has moved on with her life and believes that this is not what her father would want her to do. Cassie then tells her to stop being bad, stating it was never too late to be redeemed, and explains that in her universe, she was a big fan to Wanda Maximoff and saw her as a hero, but not a monster. Ignoring her pleas, Wanda then used her power to throw her into the sea and then proceeds to find her boys.
Wanting to put an stop to Wanda for good, Cassie along with her new boyfriend, Peter works together with the Illumanti to detain the Scarlet Witch before she gets to her boys. During a fight with Wanda, Cassie, while continuing to remain in her giant form, almost got herself killed in a fight after Wanda shot a blast in her chest, but that was when Peter used the Chaos Magic-powered celestial seedling to revive her in a minute and she used her newfound powers to absorb all of Wanda's powers, rendering Wanda powerless. With her foe beaten, Cassie decided to spare her since she still believes that there is still good inside her.
