Meeting the Ancient One[]
A few months after turning eight in 2015, Cassie was having fun with her parents until several portals opened around the house and looked around in horror where a group of Circle Sinister, led by their leader Baron Mordo and his apprentice Kaecilius, both who had been fighting the Ancient One, who was reclaiming the Book of Cagliostro that her former student took from Kamar-Taj. She took cover under the table while her parents were killed by Kaecilius and the Zealots during the fight. Once Kaecilius and the disciples of the Circle Sinister were forced to flee as Baron Mordo was entangled by the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak and then sent to Kamar-Taj to be remain imprisoned, Cassie quickly rushes over to her parents and tries to shake them, only to find out that they were dead.
Crying over her dead parents, Cassandra was then greeted by the Ancient One, who deeply apologized for what had happened and swore that these zealots of the Circle Sinister would answer for this terrible treachery. Cassie asked her who she was, to which the Ancient One reveals herself as Morgan Erskine, who was known as the "Sorceress Supreme", a title for which she serves as leader of the Masters of the Mystic Arts in Kamar-Taj. Cassie asked who the Masters of the Mystic Arts was, to which the Ancient One explains that this league of sorcerers was founded by Agamotto, and for thousands of years, these sorcerers, such as her, were dedicated to safeguarding the world from extradimensional evil that would enter their universe with malicious intent. Cassie begged her not to be left alone, to which the Ancient One promises that she won't and that in time, she would no longer have to feel afraid or alone.
Life in Kamar-Taj[]
After taking Cassie with her to Kamar-Taj in Nepal through a portal, Cassie was shown by everything by the Ancient One of what Kamar Taj was like and how the disciples of the Mystic Arts practice the ways of magic. Intrigued and fond of all this, Cassie asked if she can learn all this, only for the Ancient One to promise that she will. Eventually, Cassie was shown into her room by her mentor, who advised her to use this time to rest and meditate until she had called for her in the morning.
The next morning, Cassie met with the Ancient One and sat down as her mentor began to explain more of how the Masters of the Mystic Arts drew their power from other dimensions within the Multiverse, which gave them the ability to shape reality in a way. Cassie wonders if there was magic that involves with resurrection, something that might be useful to bring her parents back, but the Ancient One tells her about the Absolute Point and how it can not be reversed by the most greatest sorcerers. She warns her that breaking an Absolute Point may cause terrible destruction in the the universe. The Ancient One convinces Cassie to go to the library where knowledge awaits her.
Taking her mentor's advice, Cassie went to the library to take out several books on the concept of magic. There, she met the librarian Master Wong, who gave her a friendly greeting and gave her a tour around the library. He then showed her a deeper section of the library, for which she can study some of the most detailed books filled with knowledge. Cassie thanks Wong and turns to see a book, which was revealed to be the Book of Cagliostro. Cassie noted that a page was missing from the book and began to ask about it, but Wong tells her that while no knowledge was off limits in Kamar-Taj, some was too dangerous for a new student like he currently was and therefore Strange was not permitted to read it.
Mastering the Sling Ring[]
The next day, Cassandra began her training with all of the other students under the watchful eye of Master Jules. She quickly mastered the techniques that she needed and successfully created a portal and landed back at Kamar-Taj, something that pleased Master Jules.
Gaining Confidence[]
With this achievement, Cassandra gained the confidence that she could have the skills to become a sorcerer, even as a child. As a result, her mentor invited her to use the Mirror Dimension to study where she could not affect the real world. While she presented this dimension to her, the Ancient One warned of the threats like Kaecilius where this dimension could protect lives from any of the Circle Sinister's sudden attacks.

Now as the Sorceress Supreme, Cassie adopted a puppy named Lucky and her Sling Ring to create a portal which took her to the cemetery in San Francisco. With flowers in her hands, she walks over to her parents' gravesite and pays tribute to her mother and father, telling them that she's changed and now has a purpose. Lost Library of Cagliostro[]
Meeting O-Bengh[]
Twenty years later, Cassie Lang, now forty-five years old, continues to study the arts of magic in the New York Sanctum. Having learned about the existence of where the Lost Library of Cagliostro was, she uses her Sling Ring to summon a portal and ends up in the middle of a jungle. It was there that she would greet a man and made an to ask the man if he knew where the Lost Library of Cagliostro was, though he gave no answer and walked away. Cassie immediately followed him into a clearing, where she was greeted by the sight of the lost library.
Seeing that there was no door to get inside the Lost Library, Cassie opened a portal to the library's facade where she discovered a protection rune on the ground. Sensing more runes, Cassie used her magic to dispel all of them and continued to press on. That was when she encountered the same greeted by the man from before, who gives her a warm and friendly remark on how she learned very quick on how to dispel the runes. Cassie told him that she learned so much from her own masters of what it means to be a true sorcerer.
In hopes to uncover the knowledge that was kept in this ancient library for a long time, Cassie inquires if he knew where Al-Tothas Cagliostro was, though the man cryptically dodges the question. Cassie asks if he himself was Cagliostro, though the man reveals himself to be O-Bengh, who served as the apprentice of Count Cagliostro, a former sorcerer of the Mystic Arts, and currently serves as the librarian for the books of Cagliostro. She following O-Bengh to the library and began to study the knowledge.
Using her powers while O-Bengh had been watching, Cassie navigated through the vast collection of books until she found a book that involved with time manipulation. Reading through the book, she discovered that the power to break an Absolute Point in time is nigh impossible to obtain but can still be achieved by gaining power through the absorption of other beings. Remembering how the Ancient One warned her of what would happen if she broke an absolute point years ago, Cassie wouldn't risk in allowing her her universe to suffer.
That was when her power caused her to catch a glimpse of a man from a different universe, who too had been studying on how to break an Absolute Point in time to bring back the woman he loved. She looked on in horror of seeing how the man was becoming arrogant, even ignoring the warning from Morgan Erskine, O-Bengh, and Jason Wong of what would happen if he broke an absolute point. Then finally, when the man successfully resurrected the woman he loved, she saw how his universe started to die out, in which left him alone as the only sole survivor.
Collapsing to the ground in tears while O-Bengh walked over to comfort her, Cassie had always thought of an easy way to bring her parents back rather than causing the universe to be destroyed. O-Bengh tells her that he understands that she still grieves over the lost of her parents and then asked if her mother and father were worth the pain. Cassie tells him that if she does this, then she fears that she may become someone filled with arrogance and would then destroy the universe. She then asks O-Bengh if there was any other way. O-Bengh tells her that he doesn't, but gives her advice that there is a fine line between devotion and delusion, in which love is achieved.
Advice from O-Bengh[]
Accepting O-Bengh's advice, Cassie knew that her former master had been right about breaking an absolute point in time and swore to carry on as the Sorceress Supreme. During her stay, she became the adoptive niece of O-Bengh by calling him "Uncle Bengh" and felt that she was never alone. After returning from Kamar-Taj through a portal, Cassie brought a chinese takeout and spent the night with her uncle. Eventually, O-Bengh began to ask of what she saw while she came to the lost library to uncover knowledge. Cassie was hesitant to speak of that, but decided to let it out of what she saw. She explained to her uncle that she may have caught the glimpse of another universe and saw a of a man, who she described him as misguided and arrogant, learned from the book that she once read about how to break an absolute point in time. Cassie told O-Bengh that this dark man was hurt and had refused to listen to anyone in the Mystic Arts about what he would do in causing destruction to his own universe.
Silent for a moment, O-Bengh tells her that certain people are known to fall into darkness due to love being taken from them and sometimes this kind of thing could cause certain arrogance and sees that she doesn't possess that kind of trait. Cassie tells her that she lost so much, but had to move on since she now had an important duty in protecting knowledge, espically the Lost Library of Cagliostro. However, she fears that if someone in her universe may lose a person that he or she loves and is drawn into the Masters of Mystic Arts, she asks what would happen if anyone would search for knowledge in this ancient library. O-Bengh tells her that as long as someone out there is strong enough to stand against such force, anyone in the Mystic Arts, who carry no sense of arrogance, would be ready to fight against it. Just as she finished, Cassie asks if the book, which contained the knowledge in breaking an absolute point, should be destroyed, to which O-Bengh says that its up to her to decide on what is right or wrong. He even tells her that his master would've done the same thing.
Gaining Power[]
Isolating herself in a secluded room, Cassie Lang stared at the book for a while. She begins to wonder whether its wise to keep the book in the library or destroy it. As she continues to read the book, Cassie caught another glimpse of herself confronting a person in a different universe that was dying. Fearing that this vision may come to pass, Cassie decided to think of an idea that might be the key in preventing others from gaining the knowledge in breaking an absolute point in time and fight those hungry for power. She then proceeds to form a portal to summon other dimensional beings, the first one being a tentacle creature known as Shuma-Gorath. Cassie attempted to bargain with the being to borrow its power in hopes to prepare for the coming darkness, only for Shuma to grab Cassie by her leg and fling her around the room until she was knocked unconscious.
For days, Cassie had been laying in bed until she suddenly awoke in a gasp while her uncle O-Bengh nursing her back to help. Cassie asked what had happened, to which her uncle told her that dimensional beings do not bargain to share their power that no person in the Masters of the Mystic Arts cannot wield. Cassie apologized and saw that this attempt was reckless. She tells him that she forsaw a vision of her facing a person in a different universe that was dying and believed that she might be the one capable of saving it from destuction. O-Bengh tells her that the Multiverse is real and infinite with universes that never end, but as seen a lot can be destroyed by certain beings that believe that its their purpose to cause destruction for the greater good. Cassie tells her that she's seen it too before, but then asks if there were universes that she didn't become Sorceress Supreme or that her parents were never killed by Kaecilius, to which O-Bengh says 'yes'.

Cassie absorbs her first mystical being
Once healthy again, Cassie left the Lost Library of Cagliostro for a time being and returned to the library after leaving a few of the most powerful wizards in the Mystic Arts, her husband and her kids to protect the New York Sanctum. Knowing that the man she saw became so arrogant when absorbing mystical beings, Cassie did the same tactic, but would be sure that any absorption would not cause to fall off from the path at all. However, when she suddenly froze herself in time without realizing, Cassie started small by summoning a gnome, which she promptly absorbed. From there, she steadily continued absorbing more and more stronger beings, briefly taking on their appearances himself as she absorbed them.
After taking a moment once she came face-to-face with Shuma-Gorath, and used her amped-up powers to sever the beast's tentacles and absorb them into her, Cassie didn't realize that she had been frozen for over 500 years and had accidently summoned something that came out of her during each and every absorbtion. Cassie would also sense the Watcher's presence and knew that he had been watching her this whole time since she remembered that . She tells the Watcher that she knew what she saw, but feared that this power may try to corrupt her. With that, Cassie unfroze herself from time, and soon encountered O-Bengh, who had been waiting patiently for her, and revealed to her that she had been draining the power of mystical entities for centuries.
Shocked by this, Cassie asked how long she had been frozen, to which O-Bengh reveals that she had been frozen for over 500 years. Feeling that she had already fallen into darkness because of this, Cassie begs O-Bengh to take her power away, but he refuses, and warns her that the universe is starting to die. Cassie was confused and asked why it was happening, to which O-Bengh tells her that her master will tell her once she returns home.
Returning Home[]
Using her Sling Ring to take her back to New York, Cassie saw how different the city was, but in until her master Morgan Erskine opened a portal behind her. As her mentor greeted her, Cassie asked what was going on and why her universe was dying. Her master explained that her other half was the cause of all this, and tells her that she accidentally split herself while absorbing mystical creatures with the power of the Dark Dimension she had mastered. Before leaving to return to the Astral Dimension, Morgan warned Cassie that if her other self reversed the death of Dianna and Scott Lang, it would cause the end of the universe and told her that she was the only one to stop her corrupted counterpart.
Confronting Her Other Half[]
Upon returning to the Lost Library of Cagliostro, Cassie sensed that her other half was already here waiting for her. She soon saw that O-Bengh was knocked out unconscious and trapped in a circle. Walking into the library, Cassie confronted her other half, but was shocked at her appearance. Despite her other half greeting her, Cassie pleaded her that they could not bring her parents back and warned her that their reality was falling apart because of her plan. The corrupted version of Cassie refused to listen and called her a weak, selfish liar since the Masters of the Mystic Arts were holding them back. Cassie tells her other half that their masters never held them back and continues to warn her that something like this will cause destruction.
Disgusted at what her other self became, Cassie asked if her other half could save her parents, but she was grabbed by Corrupt Cassie as the two traveled to San Francisco. Arriving at the place where Dianna and Scott Lang were killed centuries ago, the corrupt Cassie told her that it was possible to resurrect them, but Cassie kept warning her of the consequences, telling her that her actions came from arrogance. Shortly after, the two began fighting as Cassie blocked the Dark Cassie's attacks. They duelled each other until Cassie believed that she stopped her evil self. However, the Dark Cassie pulled her in and posed as her parents, asking Cassie to come home. Cassie remembered what was happening to the rest of reality and knew that her evil side was tricking her. Breaking out of the illusion, Cassie manages to defeat her evil side and absorb her, thus preventing her universe from falling apart while the Watcher had been observing.
