Celestials are a primordial race of near all powerful beings created by the Cosmic Entities at the dawn of existence.
Warning: Major Revision/Expansion pending.
History[]
Before the dawn of the intergalactic community, even the Asgardians or the Dark Elves, the Cosmic Entities witnessed the birth of the universes and subsequently forged the Infinity Stones. The second act carried out by these beings were the realisation of the Celestials. Arishem, known as the "prime", was their invention. A so called architect whose purpose was to shape the aftermath of the big bang, build new planets, ignite stars, engineer new species. Over time, he evolved the purpose to watch and even judge his creations. But he grew lonely and frustrated of being the only Celestial of his universe and figured out that since the other species could reproduce in varying ways he too could likely do it. After many trial and error, Arishem finally duplicated a small sliver of his Celestial essence which he would launch off to locate a sufficient host planet to incubate in as they require large amounts of both geothermal energy and siphoning off the life-force of every newborn. To thin the herd of Apex Predators in the host planet's environment, the Deviants were created - ultimate sentient weapons of death and destruction. However, they killed too perfectly and too much having spread to other non-host solar systems. In response, to protect the native populations, Arisheim made the Eternals. A race of cosmically empowered synthetic humanoids to eternally fight their mistake. The prime Celestial mandated that every few million years, a Celestial has to be born to continue the cycle of death which brews new life for the cosmos.
As of present day, Celestials have laid the root that spawned countless galaxies over billions of years of effort through a constant exchange of energy ie: creation and destruction.
At some point in their existence, several Celestials were corrupted by Dormammu and attempted to help the primordial devil absorb the universe. However, the rest of Arishem's "children" banded together with him and engaged in a terrible war resulting in several star systems being extinguished in the battles but ultimately the true hearted Celestials were victorious.
The Celestial known as knowhere was one of the victims of the Celestial war with his severed head becoming a massive space station for countless species millennium down the line. One member of the Celestials named Galactus were infected with a dark dimension virus mutating him without falling to the will of Dormammu. Galactus would wonder the universe seeking planets who possessed a nascent Celestial spark before consuming it as sustenance. At some point, Escon the Searcher while empowered by the Power Stone battled Galactus which resulted in the decimation of the entire planet they were on including the primitive population.
During the routine journey a Cosmic spark has before finding a planet to grow in, the entity known as Ego had his journey interrupted. Instead of burrowing himself deep into a planet's core, he fell stationary in open space at the coordinates: G52 22C848T12F+E16UC22. Due to the unnatural origins of his being, he developed amnesia of Arishem and the grand purpose of his true nature yet he knew he was a Celestial. For many years, he remained without a armored body like his family but rather manifested as a flickering brain-like organism. After enough time, Ego naturally learned how to manipulate the molecules around himself, creating a protective sheathe in the form of planetary components layered by layer around his core, which eventually evolved into a life-like planet.
Ego sired a human child born in late 1980 to Meredith Quill, making the child a hybrid of human and Celestial DNA. Star-Lord's conception was all part of a plot set up by his father to produce a second Celestial, whose power he could use to complete the Expansion, which involved assimilating millions of worlds into Ego's very being. Star-Lord was only one in thousands of different children that Ego conceived over the course of thousands of years, though all who came before him were killed and thrown aside, failing to inherit the ability to manipulate matter and energy.
In 2006, the Eternal known as Starfox or Eros had a child with a human woman who became impregnated with his child named Ash . The child was born human with dormant cosmic power far superior to even full Eternals. At some point, Arishem was made aware and decided to take him under his wing making him the "Herald" and the "Harbinger".
In 2024, Arishem contacted the Eternals on Earth and directed them toward the emerging Deviant threat before betraying them by revealing Tiamut the Dreaming incubating within the Earth’s core. The birth of Tiamut would have destroyed Earth and Humanity as a whole so after numerous plots one regarding relocating Humans to another planet they eventually gave up and killed the baby Celestial by using Sersi’s molecular manipulation amplified by the collective cosmic energy residing inside every Earth Eternal using the Uni Mind.
In response, Arishem materialised over Earth and kidnapped the responsible party sparing the world for a moment while he judges their actions by reviewing their memories in the World Forge and commanding every Celestial to gather as council. In order to locate the Eternals who escaped Earth with the Domo, Arishem dispatched his “son” AKA Ash to track them through the universe.
Characteristics[]
A Celestial is born via a cosmic spark being implanted into a planet’s core that then incubates over a period of untold time absorbing the great thermal energy and the energy generated by the planet's sentient inhabitants. Tiamut the dreaming required at least 8 billion humans but this number may vary. Their emergence tears the host world apart, sparing none but the resident Eternals thanks to the usual intervention of Arishem who instructs them to return to the World Forge using the starship assigned to them.
The true form of a Celestial is that of a massive brain pulsating with glowing energy. This is also known as their "soft spot" roughly comparable to the biological heart but also brain as it contains their conscious thoughts in addition. To protect the core of their being, the Celestials usually appear as massive armor-clad humanoids of enormous size, with most of them standing at around two Earth's in height but can manipulate their size to reach that of a Mountain or even as small as a typical human. This ability to change their size has quirks for example Galactus is limited by how much energy he has absorbed previously. Each varies in color and design, which is very elaborate in some individuals.
They are somewhat capable of sexual reproduction with other species like humans or Zehoberei provided they have created a more biological avatar instead of their usual form. However, it is extremely rare of such hybrids to possess more advanced Celestial abilities besides superhuman physical characteristics.

Powers[]
- Superhuman Strength: Due to their massive size and power, Celestials possess great levels of physical strength superior to almost all species.
- Invulnerability: Virtually no means of physical force or other energy can harm Celestials in their metallic form except for other Celestials, beings of comparable or superior power, and Magic. They are able to withstand even the power of an Infinity stone.
- Size Manipulation: In their “robotic” form, they are around the size of a moon or small planet with Arishem, the prime Celestial, appearing as twice the size of Earth. They are capable of decreasing in stature by creating a humanoid avatar like Ego.
- Immortality: They are capable of living for millions if not billions of years being incapable of aging like other species.
- Flight: Celestials are able to defy gravity in order to hover and fly through the universe.
- Nigh-Omniscience: They have knowledge of events all across the universe being able to monitor Eternal activities throughout multiple galaxies and even sense the demise of another Celestial like Tiamut while knowing who was responsible.
- Self-Sustenance: A Celestial is capable of surviving in the vacuum of space completely unaided. Not needing air, and does not need any kind of consumption or rest to survive.
- Cosmic Energy Manipulation: Like the Eternals, Celestials can generate and manipulate cosmic energy to perform a variety of feats seen as “God”-like. It is possible they can do anything the Eternals can as their creators. According to Ajak, they are the greatest possible generators of cosmic power with their unrivalled power over cosmic forces making them nearly omnipotent with control over matter, energy, and life. However, they do not quite equal the might of the Infinity Stones or at least numerous Infinity Stones wielded at once.
- Energy Construct Generation: Arishem was capable of creating energy constructions using his cosmic energy. He used this power to create rings around of Sersi, Kingo, Phastos, etc.
- Gravity Manipulation: When heading to Earth, Arishem was shown having a plethora of asteroids or meteors and other celestial bodies orbiting himself due to the sheer scale and mass of his being. He can certainly manipulate that gravity in order to not have Earth and its Moon be affected in any way for it to not collapse.
- Telepathy: Celestials communicate with each other and others through mentally transmitting their thoughts as they do not have mouths unless they manifest it on an Avatar.
- Energy Manipulation: All Celestials have the power to control and generate fiery cosmic energy which they can use as a destructive weapon or tool. The colour varies between Celestial for example; for Ego it is a fiery white-blue, for Arisheim it is a fiery red while sometimes appearing golden, for Escon it is yellow unless using the power stone in which case it is purple, for Hargen it is yellow, for Jemiah it is blue-yellow, for Nezarr it is a fiery blue, etc.
- Molecular Manipulation: They are capable of creating and manipulating matter at will having created the building blocks of life for hundreds of billions of creatures.
- Biology Manipulation: All Celestials have the power to create and manipulate biological matter in all forms which includes altering genome structures.
- Weather Manipulation: Arishem’s presence over Earth darkened the sky, and manipulated the clouds to form his numerous eyes to alert Sersi.
- Teleportation: Jemiah was able to transfer himself and others from one location in the universe to another without physically inhabiting the space in between. For Arishem, this manifests as a black hole that swallows them or spits them out.
- Telekinesis: Arishem immobilized Sersi, Sprite, Phastos, and all the other Eternals on Earth before pulling them from the ground to outer space somewhere in the Sol system.
Weaknesses[]
- Higher Beings
- Magic
- Cosmic Energy
- Other Celestials
- Damage to their core
Threat Level[]
Solar system level physically.
Likely Galaxy Level if not higher - Over the course of millions if not billions of years, they have created entire planets, stars, and species that populate numerous galaxies. Vastly superior to the Eternals. They are also comparable to Wanda Maximoff, her son; William Maximoff, and Franklin Richards.
