- Ionic Energy Form: While believed to have been injected with the Goliath Serum, it turns out that it was false. It turns out that Erik Josten was exposed to some kind of radiation from "ionic rays". This gave him the power to grow to gigantic size.
- Size Alteration: The exposure from the ionic rays gave Erik to change his physical size by sheer force of will, alternatively growing stronger and more resilient with increased height. He could also increase his size to upwards from 50 to 60 feet.
- Superhuman Strength: Erik possesses vast superhuman strength, the limits of which aren't known, but he can lift in excess of 100 tons.
- Superhuman Stamina: Erik has unlimited stamina and is therefore immune to fatigue.
- Superhuman Durability:
- Invulnerability: Erik's bodily tissues are much harder due to being ionized organic matter instead of normal flesh and far more resistant to physical injury than the bodily tissues of a normal human.
- Superhuman Agility: Erik's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are all enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of even the finest human athlete.
- Superhuman Reflexes:
- Advanced Healing: Erik heals at a faster rate than a normal human normally would heal.
- Advanced Longevity: The effects of the Ionic Energy and his healing provides him with an extended lifespan by slowing the effects of the aging process. Although well over 100 years of age, Erik retains the health, appearance and physical vitality of a man in the physical prime of his life.
