Doctor Henry Jonathan "Hank" Pym is an entomologist and physicist who developed the Ant-Man Suit after discovering the Pym Particles. For a time, he worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. as a consultant and became the original Ant-Man, fighting beside his own girlfriend and future wife, Janet Van Dyne, who after discovering his secret taken on the mantle of the Wasp.

As Ant-Man, Hank managed to become a founding member of the Avengers working alongside Janet in order to bring down many enemies. However, after left severy traumatized after a battle, Hank give up his hero life but in after a couple of year later after meeting thief Scott Lang, with him give him the Ant-Man mantle as he was inspired by him in order to return to the Avengers now with the moniker of Giant Man.
