History[]
Early[]
The entire history of the gods is shrouded in an aura of mystery and less than credible legends that have been rewritten and reinterpreted over thousands of years resulting in the myths which persist today being a gross oversimplification and/or loose adaptation of the truth.
Various mythologies, particularly Roman and Greek mythology, indicates that there were six primordial deities who emerged at the dawn of creation, most notably Zeus, Hades, and several others. The six proto-gods include Jupiter (or Zeus, Perkūnas, Perun, Indra, and Dyaus) as well as Dis Pater (or Hades or Pluto), Poseidon (or Neptune, Epactaeus, Phykios, and Asphalius), Sol (or Helios, Apollo, etc), Khronos (or Saturn, Aion, etc), and Iapetus. All of these gods are implied to have a singular father who is described as immensely powerful and could very well be a 'Titan'. Hades, Zeus, Apollo, Poseidon, Chronos, and Iapetus all reproduced in various ways in order to span the diverse divine pantheon: these offspring of the gods may not have been demigods (human-god hybrids) but it is also possible at least some were before claiming the title and status of one.
Roughly 5,000 years ago, circa. 3000 or 30th century B.C, a demigod named Prometheus fell in love with a mortal named Christos. Prometheus was a warrior who was renowned as unbeatable in battle due to his divine strength and immortality. After returning home from a glorious battle, Prometheus found Christos in his bed slowly dying from sickness. Out of sorrow, Prometheus presented the mortal to the altar of the gods, which no mortal could pass through. In desperation, the demigod called out to his father and begged for the love of his life to be saved but he merely echoed that sickness is in the mortal condition and to accept the death of Christos as something meant to happen. Prometheus could not and so placed Christos on the ground before passing through the Magical threshold, hoping to claim the title of godship and all the immense supernatural stature that followed. After realizing his true power, he had hoped he was strong enough to save Christos' life. Which he did as Prometheus breathed new life into his lover's body. Unfortunately, the gods retaliated after discovering that Prometheus had messed with the balance of life and death with no thought of the consequence. They restored the balance by removing Christos' soul from his body expecting the vessel to die but since it was reanimated by a divine ember, it did not. Instead, Christos' body transformed and became a monster though not physically. The now soulless Christos attacked the confused Prometheus and while attempting to subdue him, Prometheus accidently killed him. Enraged, Prometheus manifested the totality of his godly magic and compressed it into a singular crystalline orb that contained a divine flame which humans would then call the sacred flame as it would power the Human's magic. He gave this ball of magic to his village, out of spite, in hopes of this power being enough to shield them from the powers of the gods that he now despised with all of his eternal heart. Though Prometheus' intentions were in a way pure, it was shortly proven to be a terrible mistake as the mortals no longer desired to be protected from the gods but to become gods themselves. This towering ambition caused these villagers to create most of the monster species throughout history, as well as most of the world's "ills". Centuries of diverse reproduction and cultural expansion caused the knowledge of the intricacies of Magic to be spread into every corner of the world. In modern day, common sorcerers utilise mediums or catalysts to harness the Sacred Flame such as Tattoos in ancient languages/sigils or artefacts. Some descendants of the original villagers possessed unique gifts rooted in the Sacred Flame described as "gifts". The Gods once again retaliated by infesting the world's supply of Magic creating loopholes, rules, limitations, and et cetera. However, some Gods saw potential in it and are now available as a sorta patron source offering a fraction of their own Magical power to those who offer things of value in return. Lapetus, father of Prometheus, also cursed his now Magic-less son so that he would suffer an eternity of death and rebirth, linking him to the sun for life. The process would combust his body and form a cocoon of ash from which he would arise from thus starting the legend of the Phoenix and transforming Prometheus into Bennu.

Powers and abilities[]
Gods[]
Every single god is revered as powerful and immortal forces of nature. Each one is regarded as having unique powers beside from their common attributes. Most gods have the ability to generate and manipulate an internal source of magical energy.
Full blooded gods are the epitome of immortality possessing an infinite longevity (lifespan) and invincibility far surpassing the durability of all other known supernaturals on Earth within their respective timeline. In fact, they are proclaimed to be indestructible. They also do not feel the effects of the weather, temperature including heat or chill, and et cetera. Speaking of their immortality, not even the full force of the Earth's sun could kill a Divine god as some have claimed to draw life from it (specifically Apollo did and Prometheus was confirmed to). Furthermore, Propane explosions which can reach 2,000° celsius were unable to harm gods. Not even removing a god's heart could kill them as it simply grows back in minutes. The only thing that can eradicate gods is having their soul ripped out of their form and then disintegrated before each molecule is dispersed into millions of pieces and even then, resurrection may be possible. Despite their virtual invulnerability, Gods can be hurt by exceptional means. Usually by other gods or god-blooded individuals such as demigods. Under certain conditions, divine beings unwillingly hemorrhage an enormous amount of mystical energy that stain whatever environment they are in for all time until dried up.
Ennead flesh, muscle and bone are three and a half times denser than human tissue, and average gods and goddesses can lift about 25-30 tons, respectively. For example, in a casual display, Prometheus was able to lift a set of barbell weights, weighting around 100 lbs, with a single finger. Gods are far stronger than demigods, however, some demigods are able to compete with lesser gods provided they have sufficient heritage.
Gods possess divine blood, meaning magic cannot affect them in the same way it can others. This is specifically due to the vast majority of Timeline CD-712's magic being the product of Prometheus' magic which he gifted to humans and when he did so part of the limitations built into the Sacred Flame where the safeguard that it could not be used against them. Location spells cannot find them, barrier spells cannot trap them as they simply walk through, telepathy cannot penetrate their minds, etc. Despite this, it seems it is not total immunity just resistance or exemptions as direct offensive magic like projectile magic can still work on gods.
Some Gods possess the ability to defy the physical laws of gravity in order to propel themselves through the air unaided with extreme momentum.
Weaknesses[]
- God Magic: Despite their godhood, divine magic can still affect Gods when wielded by another god or demigod. For example, it has been stated "only a god can kill another god". Which is presumably due to the requirement of mass spreading the majority of their bodily molecules to the point where they cannot regenerate. Furthermore, divine magic can be used to seal a god into an Ushabti from which they cannot escape from.
- White Fire and Brimstone: A mixture developed by the Spartans to harm the gods, otherwise known in modern times as phosphorus and sulfur, when super-heated it can cause an immense explosion causing harm to their physical forms and avatar which requires a long time to heal from.
- Belief: Gods run on belief and are only as powerful as people's belief in them, which has diminished over the years. This is both a great power and a diminishing weakness. This includes the belief and faith their own avatar puts in them as well as their enemies, essentially their powers are dependent on faith and perception of them.
Hybrids[]
Depending on the pedigree, the children of gods possess varying abilities. The most common abilities are a degree of superhuman physical characteristics and immortality usually far below average gods with their immortality paling in comparison but demigods with sires of higher status can achieve feats on par with some gods. Also depending on the heritage, their abilities will either focus on Magic or physicality and some are born without their own magic such as Prometheus. For example: Children of Árēs have lower than average Magic capacity but are exceptional combatants and physically superior to other demigods.
It is also possible for a demigod to ascend to the position of a fully fledged god such as what Prometheus did before returning to his former demigod status. It is possible for demigods whose power set emphasises magic to be near-god like but is inadequate physically. Whereas Gods typically possess the best of both worlds: magic and all the physical might/immortality.
Some demigods possess a degree of telepathy referred to as a "mind trick" or "head dive" and less often as a "mental fusion" usually by placing one's hands on the target's head or technically any part of their body but the head makes for far superior direct contact. It is technically the process of establishing a telepathic link or connection between two or more individuals allowing for an intimate exchange of thoughts, memories, emotions. An improper link to another demigod either done without consent (with the demigod actively resisting) or through utter lack of experience can result in a catatonic coma of either and/or both parties. Normally, the experience is quite pleasurable for demigods as such an exchange invokes a euphoric feeling described as the pinnacle of pleasure. Even fewer demigods possess the ability to almost hypnotically compel mortals therefore controlling their actions provided they use a soothing voice and prolonged eye contact causing their pupils to dilate. Due to this abilities nature as violating free will, it is looked down upon by both most of the gods and many demigods.
Among the common superhuman physical powers Demigods have are: accelerated healing allowing the regeneration and recovering from injuries such as gunshots, broken bones, poison, blood loss, snapped necks, burns, etc. However, they cannot heal from dismemberment, decapitation, heart removal, etc. In addition, they often have a degree of enhanced/superhuman strength allowing them to overpower others as well as enhanced speed, senses, agility, etc.
The divine blood coursing through demigod veins have a number of uses including strong regenerative properties healing most injuries/illnesses when either injected into or consumed by mortals. Sharing ones blood with another demigod is seen as a very intimate and personal experience, not to be taken lightly. When two demigods share blood, an aphrodisiac effect occurs such as extremely increased libido and prolonged erection if male. Furthermore, magic cannot affect them in the same way it can others. meaning location spells cannot find them, barrier spells cannot trap them, etc. This also allows them to disrupt magic through their blood such as by pouring it onto a spell/ritual.
Demigods experience emotions more intense than humans. Emotions like love, joy, and happiness are magnified for them allowing them to live life more intensely. But this also applies to negative emotions like hate and anger as well as sadness.
