Jared Beekman was a young college professor who worked at the Empire State University. He was known to be very abusive towards women and considers them weak. After his girlfriend Dia Sloane tried to get away from him, Beekman became very aggressive and beat her up a lot as a way to teach her a lesson. When Beekman came to her store to try and hurt her, she was saved by Jessica Jones and Malcolm Ducasse, who were able to drive him away and given a warning to never come near her again.
