Jennifer Kale is a witch, a beauty guru, social media influencer, and owner of Kale Kare, she is also a pink witch, with the innate ability to use Alchemy. While working as a nurse and healer in World War I, Kale was persecuted and suffered an assassination attempt by a racist doctor, although she survived, suffering severe emotional trauma, and as a way of defending herself, she subconsciously suppressed, limited, and significantly weakened her own magic by unwilingily casting a binding spell on herself, drastically reducing the effectiveness of her spells, which landed her in legal trouble with spells that had negative side effects. Kale was persuaded by Agatha Harkness to join her coven and walk the Witches' Road, where after passing several trials and reaching the end, she was granted her wish, to be freed from her spell, and she returned to Earth alive and with her full power unlocked. Kale also auxiliated Billy Kaplan in his quest to find his mother.

Kale was recruited by Doctor Strange to form the Midnight Sons and fight Lilith when she resurfaced in modern times to conquer Earth, Kale eventually formed a deep bond with the Man-Thing and the Nexus of All Realities. Jennifer Kale managed to defeat all of Lilith's allies, including Vertigo, former leader of the now-extinct Salem's Seven.

Personality[]

Jennifer Kale is known for her confident and charismatic demeanor, which often contrasts sharply with her feelings toward Agatha Harkness. Upon seeing Agatha, Jennifer's immediate reaction is one of displeasure; she frowns and adopts a passive-aggressive stance, frequently making sarcastic and mocking comments aimed at Agatha. This antagonism highlights her deep-seated dislike for the witch.

Her irritation escalates when Billy Kaplan remarks that she would have no "worldly dramas" if she were at full power. This comment strikes a nerve, leading Kale to feel deeply offended and respond with aggressive insults. Despite her initial defensiveness, she ultimately decides to accept the guidance of Kaplan and Harkness to join their coven, walk the Witches' Road and liberate herself from the trauma that binds her magic.

Although initially appearing to be hostile to the members of Agatha Harkness' coven, Kale bonded with them quickly after experiencing life-and-death situations with them and appeared to form geniune friendships with the coven, especially Billy Kaplan, as shown when she and Kaplan embraced each other and celebrated when they thought they had finished the Road and defeated the Salem's Seven. After they realized that the Salem's Seven's leader, Vertigo, was still alive, Kale was deeply apologetic, showing her true emotions, and seemed upset about having to leave the Witches' Road for her wish to be granted, as she would have liked to have stayed to help Kaplan.

As a member of the Midnight Sons, Kale formed a profound bond with the Man-Thing, demonstrating deep empathy and care for him. This connection intensified when Vertigo injured the Man-Thing, leaving Kale distraught and upset. Her emotional turmoil motivated her to seek revenge, culminating in a brutal attack that not only claimed Vertigo's life but also resulted in significant losses for Lilith's army.

    • Alchemy: As a pink witch, Kale has the innate ability to use Alchemy, a magical discipline focused on elemental transmutation, ranging from transforming base materials into purer (lead or iron into silver or gold), to making permanent changes on the state of matter (making glass malleable or durable, etc.), various forms of elemental manipulation (especially electricity and fire) and life-force manipulation (immortality, healing and even creating life or at the least clones/homunculi), also know how to create potions (for rejuvenation and immortality) and magical items, although these are generally for practical use.

The latter means of power is usually gained by the recitation of incantations. She for at least a century had no way to use this whilst bound, her magic was heavily weakened and limited.
