Michael van Patrick was a former student of the University of Kentucky & descendant of Abraham Erskine, the scientist who created the original Super Soldier Serum. He became a "Super-Soldier" through a lifetime of experimental diets & isometric physical training to naturally augment his body to the pinnacle of human conditioning. Van Patrick was later enrolled in the 50-State Initiative & was placed into the Action Pack, where he served as leader. Unfortunately, his time as leader was short-lived, as he was accidentally killed by teammate Violet Lightner during a training session.
Following van Patrick's death, a clone by the codename of "KIA" was created as a means to replace him. However, KIA eventually went insane & decided to kill the one who was responsible for MVP's death before he was stopped by the combined forces of Action Pack & the Called.
Biography[]
Origin[]
During his research into what would ultimately become the super-soldier serum, Dr. Abraham Erskine outlined a special Brazilian revolutionary diet & isometric exercise regimen that he theorized would create a super-soldier. However, because the diet & regime required a lifetime of adherence in order to produce the desired results, this research was rejected by the US government who demanded super soldiers that could be produced immediately, not over the course of years. Erskine passed over his methodology when he perfected his serum. When Erskine was assassinated, little research pertaining to the serum was sequestered by the government. His prior research notes were deemed irrelevant to not even classify as secret; thus they were passed down through his family, finally ending up in the hands of his grandson, Brian van Patrick, who used the research to develop a successful organic food business.
Early Life[]
When his son Michael was born, Brian decided to test out the diet & the exercise regime on the boy to see if his grandfather's theories were right. As it happened, the theories were correct, & within twenty years, Michael Van Patrick became one of the greatest student athletes in the country, earning a scholarship to the University of Kentucky. However, when reporters discovered that Michael was the great-grandson of the man who created Captain America, he came under heavy scrutiny. Though the testing all showed that his abilities were due to training, Michael lost his scholarship, & nearly lost every award he'd ever received.
50-State Initiative[]
The creation of the 50-State Initiative offered Michael another chance. Dubbed "MVP", Michael was recruited by Justice as part of the Initiative. At Camp Hammond, he broke the course record for non-speedsters, impressing most of the other trainees & S.H.I.E.L.D. members. He was compared to Captain America. dubbed comedically as "the next Captain America."
After accomplishing his requirements, van Patrick was placed in Action Pack, where he served as leader.
Action Pack[]
Death[]
During one certain training session, van Patrick's teammate Violet Lightner was spooked by the sight of a spider--the thing she feared the most. Lightner panicked & fired wildly, inadvertently killing teammate van Patrick as a result.
Legacy[]
Autopsy[]
Van Patrick's autopsy revealed that although he didn't possess any special powers, his body was genetically perfect.

Personality[]
Powers & Abilities[]
Abilities[]
Naturally-Enhanced Physiology: Michael's physiology has been naturally augmented since his infancy without the need of any special drugs, steroids, radiation, or genetic engineering. Michael's abilities are the result of a lifetime of a special revolutionary diet that was obtained in Brazil combined with a special isometric exercise regimen. Down to the genetic level; the results of the biochemicals present in the foods consumed slowly augmented his biochemistry. According to Von Blitzschlag, he stated "every cell in his body is perfection". He engaged in a daily regimen of rigorous exercise, including aerobics, weight lifting, & gymnastics to keep himself at peak human condition. His entire body is composed of healthy cells, having achieved the desired biochemical effect of the Super Soldier Serum without the actual serum or Vita-Ray exposure.
- Peak Human Strength: MVP's physical strength is equal to the peak of human potential. His physical strength is above that of a normal human being.
- Peak Human Durability: MVP's body is more resistant to physical injury, to variable degrees, than a normal human. Unfortunately, this did not save him from the Tactigon.
- Peak Human Agility/Reflexes: His agility, balance, & bodily coordination are enhanced to levels beyond the natural physical limits of even the finest Olympic athletes.
- Peak Human Speed: Unknown, likely 32-36 mph.
- Regenerative Healing Factor: As KIA proved, had he not been killed by the Tactigon, he would have healed from broken bones, torn muscles, numerous gunshot, & knife wounds as well as many severe injuries within a day. Lesser ones like cuts, scrapes, & burns within an hour or so.
- Decelerated Aging: Also, had he not died, his regeneration of healthy cells would have slowed down the aging process in his body.
- Peak Human Stamina: MVP's body removes the excessive build-up of fatigue-producing poisons in his muscles & his musculature generates considerably less fatigue toxins than the muscles of a normal human, granting him superhuman levels of stamina in all physical activities.
