Malachai Grayson, simply referred to as Kai, is a powerful warlock and sorcerer serving as a occasional antagonist to the Iron Fist, Masters of the Mystic Arts, and Watchmen of magic.

Physical Appearance[]

He appears as a physically attractive young man potentially in his late teens or so biologically with dark brown-black eyes, dark brown hair, is clean shaven, stands at around 5 foot 10, and has a slim yet proportionately athletic body built. Malachai is of Thai descent. He typically wears white shirts with jeans and black boots as well as carries a backpack with him to hold Mindless One totems but has also worn more comfortable and relaxed outfits.

Master Sorcerer: As a result of his witch heritage, Kai possessed what he referred to as a "knack" for magic being knowledgeable in the traditional form utilised by Witches and several others due to his time both on Earth and in the Dark Dimension. He is particularly skilled in combat magic with it being his main asset in fights. Originally, he was far less powerful due to being self-trained and typically relied on artefacts but eventually reached the level of a Master largely thanks to the training he received in the Dark Dimension. He was also skilled enough to expertly train a young warlock and cultivate his exceptional potential: Adam Riley.
- Dark Magic Manipulation: Kai has some skill in performing Black Magic spells which harness the supernatural energy of malevolent entities/forces. Like Chaos Magic users, he could become stronger through certain emotions like confidence and anger while also experiencing bursts of “adrenaline enhanced magick” from painful events or stress.
  - Teleportation: By casting “Faran!” which invokes the dark deity Farallah, he has the ability to transport himself and others from one location to another without physically inhabiting the space in between. This manifests as the teleported party being engulfed in bright orange light and quickly fading into nothingness before reappearing in a flash of light.
  - Power Negation: By casting: "Nagnisol Amikae", he is capable of reversing the effects of a spell or temporarily disempowering a sorcerer from channeling a higher being.
- Witch Magic Manipulation: Additionally, he has the natural ability to generate copious volumes of mystical energy as a result of being a source. Due to his aura, Kai's mystical signature manifests as luminescent blue energy typically misty. He can furthermore channel the aura of another being in order to harness their latent connection to the multiverse to boost his own strength and can also siphon electromagnetic energy flowing through the Earth's Ley-Lines.
  - Astral Projection: A basic technique that Kai mastered fairly easily, he is capable of projecting his consciousness into an incorporeal ethereal energy state comprised out of pure mana which allows him to thereby move about beyond the confines of the physical body and place himself in any environment he chooses but cannot interact physically. He is furthermore able to "synchronize" with the spiritual life-force of another - thereby voluntarily bringing others along with him into the astral plane.
  - Energy Manipulation: Malachai is capable of shaping his mystical energy into tangible constructs/formations and utilise it for a plethora of purposes.
    - Telekinesis: He can psychically move objects or other individuals without physically touching them through gestures; Kai can affect and control molecules and particles, as well as physical forces such as kinetic energy, friction, pressure, density, state of matter, gravity pressure, vectors, etc.
      - Flight/Levitation: Kai has the ability to defy gravity in order to levitate freely in the air and even propel himself at great speeds to fly across cities. There has been two explanations regarding the potential mechanics surrounding this power: 1. He moves the atoms underneath him so he's technically always standing on something or 2. he creates thrust from rapid detonations in the hydrogen contained in the air.
    - Energy Projection: For short-long distance ranged attacks, he has the ability to discharge vibrant, incandescent blue energies often outlined with an aura of mist that are extremely powerful and effective in combat situations. Kai could manifest this power as either spinning sonic waves, beams, or shockwaves that carry his choice of either electrical energy, concussive force or heat. He can also spawn energized rotating orbs comprised of line-like glowing bright blue-white energy in a form similar to an Atom shape that hovers telekinetically above his palms used to intimidate someone at point-blank range or can be used to fire it at as a projectile toward a target. While almost always he does not require spells for this, he has used some on occasion for stronger effects for example: "Externa Despariot" releases an omnidirectional shockwave.
    - Construct Generation: He has notably used this to place multiple energy rings around a target's body effectively binding them. Kai has also conjured: chain-like lassos/whips, durable shields of adjustable size that appear similar to Tao Mandalas except with unique designs, mid-air platforms to stand on, and glowing blue water-like energy bubbles that can be large enough to surround himself or others. He has even encompassed his entire body in a aura of thick blue flame-like energy to protect himself. While he does not always require incantations for this power, he has used some on occasion. For example: "Nectae Artis Magicus" summons strong mystical handcuffs. Additionally, to decast the handcuffs he requires to state: "Liberatio".
    - Transmutation: By performing: "Permuto", he was able to conjure bright white-blue tendrils which swarmed around him and spiraled downwards thereby replacing his current outfit with another. Secondly, by casting: "Transformatio Redyeste", he could summon a large Tao Mandala that alters any non-living object that passes through.
  - Dowsing/Quaeromancy: By focusing magic onto the residual life energies imprinted on objects, causing them to float in the air, Kai can track the person who owns said object.
- Dark Dimension Magic Manipulation: As a result of growing up in the Dark Dimension, he has subsequently learned and/or been trained to harness the energy native to the realm and its ruler: Dormammu, a mutant Faltine. However, he is limited in this form outside of the Dark Dimension as he noted the dimensional barriers separating it from Earth were "disruptive".
  - Time Manipulation (limited): By casting: "Duratus vita", he can unleash a wave of energy that causes any organic matter struck by said wave to momentarily be frozen in time for 2 minutes. However, given the specifics about it only working on biological matter, it can be blocked by avoiding the wave or being protected by a counter shield of energy or by being molecularly made of something other than said material.
  - Immortality: Since he draws power from Dormammu, his life has been indefinitely prolonged to the point of being ageless yet is still vulnerable to mortal means of death.
  - Summoning: Through the use of totem effigies, Kai is capable of calling forth a limited small army of mindless ones that he force merges into said totems thus giving them physical form. The spell he uses to induce the invocation of the creatures and bestow corporal state is: "Veni tenebris vita, novum corpus!".

For the purposes of simplicity and continuity, this article will use general he/him in reference. Furthermore, he is bisexual but is aromantic meaning he is disinterested in pursuing long-term relationships.
He is an avid soda drinker with his favourites being chilled Pepsi and Coca Cola Vanilla. He hates that they are unavailable in the Dark Dimension.
