Matthias Pavayne was an 18th Century doctor and serial killer known as the Reaper whose death was used to de-consecrate the ground of a former church in order for Wolfram & Hart build their Los Angeles branch. His spirit returned as a rageful ghost in 2024, but he was exorcised by the Angel Investigations team.
