Mephistopheles, simply referred to as Mephisto, is a pagan demonic deity originally existing as an angelic being before his descent and currently sits as one of the Lords of Hell while ruling Edom.

Although he often appears in the Human form of who he possesses, his true demonic visage is huge, naked (beside from a modesty cloth around his presumed genitals in addition to arm gauntlets, muscular and monstrous-like, with four eyes, horns, hooves, and red skin. His body seems to be etched with ribbed black markings notable around his torso and biceps. Mephisto's breath supposedly smells like a fireplace possibly denoting a smoking wood scent.

- Elder Demon/Fallen Angel Physiology: As a Hell-Lord ruling over the realm of Edom, Mephisto is an extremely powerful and ancient entity originally created by the One Above All as an heavenly creature before being condemned to eternity in Hell due to siding with the One Below All thus losing his birth nature. He proclaimed himself to be a "cosmic" demon of the highest tier wielding colossally high quantities of infernal power. Mephisto is also known as the demon sin of lust which would explain why his progeny can inherit powers similar to that of mythological succubus. It is possible he possesses all the common abilities of the Demon race including that of his children
- Immortality: As a Demon, he has an infinite lifespan being immune to the concepts of time and cannot be killed through any conventional means. Only sources of magic are able to harm Mephisto such as mystical weapons like Blades of Edom or sufficiently powerful spells.
- Dimensional Lordship: As the Hell-Lord ruling over Edom, he leads unquestioned by his citizens and has the ability to warp said realm to an unlimited degree able to accomplish virtually anything within its dimensional borders.
- Demonic Magic Manipulation: Mephistopheles possesses the ability to control mystical energies rooted in infernal quintessence for a plethora of reasons. Uniquely his power is not dependant on the forces of Hell but he rather generates such energy by himself yet he does channel additional power from Edom such as from lakes of fire or infernal furnaces making him far stronger when in his own domain. However, every time he uses it on Earth, his current vessel begins to weaken and eventually deteriorate at the molecular level. The only way he can exert his full power without limitation is to use a unique being as his vessel - The entity must be of mortal birth yet be spiritually linked to Hell bearing powers of similar composition to that of his own. In other words, only his children can act as his true vessels; Damien or Zoe Helstorm. Using his magic, generates a sulfuric essence that can be traced. Mephisto's power is inferior to that of Chthon, Dormammu, Shuma-Gorath, all primordial entities, one below all, one above all, celestials like Arishem or Galactus, The Scarlet Witch, and numerous others.
- Wish Granting: By making deals with mortals, Mephistopheles is able to grant them a single wish able to alter reality in a limited fashion. However, unlike other reality warpers like the Scarlet Witch, there is always a price to be paid and it is usually the soul of the person in question.
- Possession: He can enter the body of a human thus gaining full control over them and empowering them with supernatural abilities not native to their form. The longer he remains in a human body, the more energy he absorbs from the person's soul until the vessel is eventually deceased unless they meet certain criteria. As one of the oldest and most powerful demons, Mephisto has the ability to "mark" multiple humans allowing for their immediate possession upon the death of his current host.
- Power Bestowal: He was able to empower a fellow demon, of lesser status, with enough strength to compete with his cambion offspring.
- Resurrection: Upon the death of his son, Mephisto was capable of restoring him to life and healed of his injuries.
- Teleportation: Mephisto has the ability to transport himself and others from one location to another without physically inhabiting the space in between. While inside Damien's body, he was able to teleport inside a church in order to talk to Gabriella.
- Telekinesis: He is capable of mentally influencing both people and objects through pure thought. When young Damien attempted to commit suicide, Mephisto levitated his body to safely protect him from the fall.
- Telepathy: Mephisto is capable of transmitting his thoughts into that of other entities and could also read the minds of others. He used this to notably communicate with his children from across dimensions demonstrating how his mental prowess can pierce the borders between realms.
- Superhuman Durability: The tissues of Mephisto's demonic body, while similar in texture to a human's, are considerably tougher, denser and thereby more resistant to injury than that of a regular human.

Due to Mephistopheles' power and followers, he has vast resources which include an arsenal of soldiers, funds, weapons and cultists at his fingertips.
Threat Level[]
At least island or mountain level, likely large planet level. Possibly solar system level+ stated to be far superior to his children and virtually everyone in the Sol system with a few exceptions notably mystic individuals or Omega Level mutants being a challenge.
He has been confirmed to be weaker than that of the Celestials such as Galactus or Arishem which subsequently means he is inferior to Wanda Maximoff at her peak.
Weaknesses[]
Totems made from the bones of a Keeper Demon are capable of immobilising Mephisto for a brief few seconds before his power causes it to burn away. This also nullifies much of his power for said time, rendering him incapable of hurting others around him for as long as the totem lasts.
Supernatural weapons such as hell blades, he cannot heal from and could potentially be fatally wounded as it erases spiritual energy. It can be presumed other mystical weapons such as; Necroswords, the Soulsword of Limbo, the Ebony Blade, or Daggers of Daveroth, are possibly capable of lethally wounding Mephisto since they are born of magic like himself. However, they are untested and this is pure speculation. Furthermore, he is stated to be existing as an abstract conceptual entity and can be reborn as long as sin exists in abundance.
Mephisto's powers are linked to his extra-dimensional realm and his powers rapidly decrease the longer he is away from his realm. This however does not mean he is powerless on Earth if he stays for long periods as he has an internal "battery".
Higher demonic entities such as the One Below All or other members of Hell-Lords and even the Chaos Lords could overpower and kill Mephisto provided they are stronger than him.
