Craig Hollis is the first & only known member of a species called Homo Supreme, possessing the superhuman ability of immortality, which he discovered after attempting suicide several times. He went on to become the founder & leader of the Great Lakes Avengers, which later became the superhero team of Wisconsin in the 50-State Initiative.

Mr. Immortal was born the only known member of Homo supreme, an evolutionary stage beyond both Homo sapiens (or humans) & Homo superior (or mutants). His powers include:

Retroactive Immortality: Mr. Immortal possesses the ability to automatically resurrect & heal from any death he suffers. The resurrection often occurs almost immediately. It appears that he no longer ages. He has recovered from being shot, stabbed, drowned, crushed, exploded, poisoned, decapitated, irradiated, & incinerated.
