The daughter of Gorr the God Butcher, whose death by starvation triggered her father's murderous crusade against all gods for forsaking them, was ultimately resurrected by the cosmic entity Eternity in accordance with Gorr's wish, bought on by Thor's advice. She was left in the care of Thor by Gorr before he died, leading her to become Thor's ward, known as Love Thorsdóttir.
Biography[]
Original Life[]
Death[]
Love was the young daughter of a devout alien named Gorr, who cared deeply for his daughter. Their planet was in a state of decay, with much being a barren inhospitable wasteland, bringing death & suffering to their people. Love was growing weak & dying from starvation, & unable to walk alone, so she was carried by her exhausted father as they roamed the barren void of the desert in search of life.
However, Love soon succumbed & perished, which drove her father to sorrow, cradling her body in the desert before being forced to abandon it. In the aftermath of her demise, her father found their god, Rapu, but finding him loathsome & uncaring, Gorr killed him, becoming the God Butcher & embarking on a violent intergalactic crusade against all gods to avenge the death of Love.
New Life[]
Resurrection[]
- "Oh… My Love… I'm so sorry."
"It's okay." - ―Gorr & Love
Gorr's crusade led him to the cosmic entity Eternity, where he planned to wish for the death of all gods to avenge Love. However, he was convinced by the Asgardian/Norse god of thunder Thor to wish for his daughter's resurrection instead. As a result, Love was restored to life through the power of Eternity, though Gorr was dying due to the corruption caused by All-Black the Necrosword. Love bore witness to her father's death, but not before Gorr left her in the care of Thor, who then took her to Earth where she met Korg.
Living with Thor[]
Love then departed with Thor to space & went to a foreign planet, where she was trained in combat & entrusted with the weapon Stormbreaker. She joined her adoptive father in battle many times, where they became known as Love and Thunder. She drew a smiley face on Thor's weapon Mjølnir, which Thor reluctantly agreed made the weapon look better. Thor tried to serve pancakes for breakfast, but she did not like them.
As they prepared for battle, they had an argument because she wanted to wear slippers while he wanted her to wear boots, and she tried to blast him with optic beams. He got his way, and she wore the boots. He reminded her that they had a responsibility to defend the weak, and they charged out to defend an alien race from an invading army.

War of the Realms[]
Second Attack on New Asgard[]
- "Did that really happen?"
"Yeah, I'd rather not talk about it..." - ―Love & Thor
Love & Thor visited New Asgard. While there, they & several tourists were watching a reenactment of Thor's confrontation with Zeus. During the reenactment, the actor portraying Zeus "flicked" the disguise off of the actor who portrayed Thor, leaving him almost completely naked, much to the shock of the tourists & the real Thor's embarrassment. Surprised & a bit disgusted by what she just saw, Love asked Thor if that really happened, but Thor said he'd rather not talk about it, & he told Love that they should before anyone noticed them. Unfortunately, for Thor, one tourist noticed him & pointed him out, & Thor & Love soon found themselves surrounded by admirers.
Attack at Le voyageur[]
- "What's your name?"
"Love."
"'Love'... That's a pretty name." - ―Layla & Love
Love & Thor traveled to Marrakech while trying to run from Hercules. They rented a room at the motel Le voyageur, & Thor told Love that he was going to go out to keep an eye out for any danger, & that Love was not to leave the room unless it was an emergency. Not long after Thor left, Love was ambushed by Erinyes, & she ran out of the motel in an attempt to get away from them. Just when the Erinyes were about to overpower Love, Layla El-Faouly appeared & protected her, killing several Erinyes. After the remaining Erinyes fled, Layla checked to make sure that Love was alright. Love then explained to Layla how Thor told her to stay put until he came back. Layla told Love that she could help her find her father, & then she asked her what her name was. Love told her name, & when Layla heard this, she smiled, complimenting it to be a pretty name.
Love & Layla soon managed to find Thor, who was in an alley with Layla's husband Marc Spector.
Personality[]
