Modred is an ancient Human Witchbreed who was the former apprentice of Gervasse and the first person to study the ancient Ornate Darkhold. However, Modred became completely twisted by the corruption of the Darkhold until Gervasse would seal Modred in a crypt hoping that future generations might be able to help him. Modred was awoken by Janet Lyton and Grant Whittaker, who were both associated with the Masters of the Mystic Arts. In hopes to atone for his past mistakes he made, Modred founded the Darkhold Redeemers and became a loyal ally to the Ancient One's mystical society.
