Morgan le Fay is a powerful Witch/Fairy hybrid born in the Middle Ages and the legendary adversary of King Arthur, her older half-brother and archenemy of Merlin. le Fay was the author of the first copy of the Darkhold, known as the True Darkhold, and is the High Priestess of the Darkholders, as well as the creator of the Staff of One. le Fay infiltrated Abigail Harkness' coven to walk the Witches' Road in order to became the most powerful witch, and when she revealed herself, she was defeated and banished to the Dark Dimension.

Morgan le Fay managed to escape the Dark Dimension by inciting Nico Minoru to perform a spell to do so, in which le Fay planned to merge the Dark Dimension and Earth and rule supreme over them. Her plan was foiled, however, and le Fay was banished back to the Dark Dimension.

When Doctor Strange and Clea came to the Dark Dimension to resolve an incursion caused by the Elder God Chthon, le Fay was one of the many adversaries faced by the duo. Finally, le Fay was able to escape to Earth. Le Fay planned to become the most powerful witch in existence, to do so, she made a deal with Chthon, where she would help him conquer Earth and he would give her access to Chaos Magic. This led her to a direct confrontation with the Scarlet Witch, where despite initially having the upper hand, she was overcome by Wanda along with Agatha Harkness and Rio Vidal, the Green Witch, and ended up being trapped in a mental hex created by the Scarlet Witch and a binding spell casted by Rio to stop le Fay from using her powers.

Personality[]

Morgan le Fay is a powerful, cunning, and manipulative witch, wholly dedicated to her mission of merging the Dark Dimension with Earth to create a new realm under her rule. Her ambition is unyielding, and she has consistently demonstrated little regard for the lives or well-being of others. Her ruthless nature makes her a formidable force, and she has no qualms about hurting or sacrificing anyone who stands in her way. Le Fay openly declared that she has no soul and takes pride in her lack of attachment to anyone. Throughout her life, every act of affection or friendship she has shown was merely a calculated move to further her goals. For example, she pretended to befriend Tina Minoru, only to manipulate her into gaining access to the Staff of One, a powerful magical artifact. Similarly, she enthralled Robert Minoru to become his lover, solely to take control of Wizard, an organization she needed to carry out her Corvus operation. These actions highlight her willingness to deceive and use others for her own ends.

Her lack of morality is evident in her decisions, such as when she contemplated sacrificing the young Molly Hernandez to advance her plan or when she threatened the Runaways with endless suffering unless they submitted to her authority. Morgan le Fay's manipulative tendencies extend far beyond individual relationships; she poses a broader threat to entire communities and realms. She often justifies her actions with claims of altruistic motives, like eradicating poverty, corruption, and other global issues. She even argued that she wanted to show the world how powerful women could be. However, her actions reveal that her true interest lies in her own quest for power, and she is more concerned with personal gain than any form of genuine altruism. In fact, Gert Yorkes, one of the Runaways, aptly described her as a bully and a hypocrite. Despite Le Fay’s lofty claims of wanting to better the world, her manipulation and self-interest always take precedence. Her detached, manipulative nature, combined with her disregard for the lives of others, makes her one of the most dangerous witch to ever walk the Earth.

However, Le Fay was not always this way. In her early years, she had noble intentions, seeking to use her magical abilities to heal and to secure a place in Camelot. After being ostracized by her half-brother, King Arthur and Merlin, who viewed her powers as a threat, she felt deeply betrayed. This rejection led her to turn to the darker aspects of magic as a way of reclaiming what she believed was rightfully hers. Morgan le Fay's descent into darkness was accelerated by her exposure to the Darkhold, an ancient book of forbidden knowledge. The magic within the Darkhold not only expanded her abilities but also corrupted her soul. Le Fay herself claims to have lost her soul entirely, attributing her lack of empathy and attachment to this dark transformation. Yet, Abigail Harkness, a fellow witch, believes that this soullessness is not absolute. She argues that the Darkhold's influence has twisted Le Fay’s emotions and personality, distorting the good that once existed within her into something far more sinister.

Ultimately, Morgan le Fay’s actions are a product of her betrayal and the corruption of dark magic, but her unwavering pursuit of power has left little room for redemption. She stands as a complex figure—once capable of good but now consumed by her desire for control, willing to sacrifice anything and anyone in the process.

        • Telepathy: Le Fay communicated with Nico Minoru by directly speaking into the latter's mind, without those around Minoru being able to hear le Fay's voice. Le Fay notably used this on several occasions to convince Minoru to give in to the powers provided by the Staff of One, and one final whisper was enough for le Fay to give Minoru the formula of a spell which enabled le Fay to escape from the Dark Dimension.
        • Illusion Manipulation: By the time she was still trapped in the Dark Dimension, le Fay created an illusion of Robert Minoru she had interacting with Nico Minoru in an attempt to know what had happened to the Staff of One. Prior to that, she had also transformed a photograph in the Minoru Mansion to make Nico believe that Tina Minoru and le Fay had known each other.
        • Mental Manipulation: While being asked to sign in to a hospital to visit Robert Minoru, le Fay used her magic to make a receptionist forget that she had to sign in. Through her Crow Necklaces, she could also force people to do her bidding without them being unable to resist, thus taking control of Wizard through Minoru and enthralling Geoffrey Wilder as well.
        • Portal Creation: Le Fay was able to create a portal to enter the Hostel and arrive in front of the Runaways.
        • Mirror Communication: Le Fay used mirrors as means of communication between the Dark Dimension and the Earthly Plane, although she could not use them alone to escape from the Dark Dimension. Thus, she was able to communicate with Nico Minoru while she was still trapped in the Dark Dimension. Le Fay was also able to show Nico Minoru a glimpse of Alex Wilder imprisoned in the dimension once she had been liberated by using the surface of a mirror.
        • Teleportation: Upon sensing that Robert Minoru was touching the Darkhold she possessed, le Fay immediately teleported to his location without even creating a portal, disappearing and rematerializing in a puff of smoke.
        • Fire Generation: Le Fay was able to cause several candles to spontaneously ignite.
        • Telekinesis: Le Fay's powers enabled her to remotely manipulate objects, including living organisms. During the Battle at the Hostel, she easily repelled Molly Hernandez as she attempted to sneak behind her, and violently projected glass shards towards a future Chase Stein to kill him.
        • Matter Absorption: Le Fay absorbed Nico Minoru's dagger, made of a combination of a Lightforce dagger imbued with Minoru's magic, into her own body, claiming that it rendered her stronger.
      • Dark Magic: Using the True Darkhold, le Fay gained access to infinite magical knowledge, allowing her to master the dark arts.
        • Healing: Le Fay was able to fully heal Robert Minoru from a coma he had been plunged into due to the severe injury he had suffered from a confrontation against his daughter. However, the healing was only active as long as le Fay wanted it to be, and as such Minoru promptly began dying again when le Fay withdrew the energy she had given him.
        • Power Augmentation: Le Fay was able to manipulate others thanks to the Corvus phones, which continuously emitted a recreation of her voice when activated, so that the users felt compelled to increasingly use them, unknowingly giving power to le Fay, enhancing her magical power into unimaginable levels.
        • Mystical Object Creation: Le Fay is able to create and infuse objects with powerful magic. Le Fay was able to create the Staff of One, a powerful object imbued with the power of the ancient Blood Magic.
    • Fairy Physiology: Le Fay is a fairy, a race of mystical beings native from the Otherworld, made of pure magical energy.
      • Magical Energy Manipulation: As a fairy, le Fay has a strong ability to manipulate raw magical energy, being able to use it to enhance her spells. Le Fay was able to easily transform beams of energy from Karolina Dean and Chase Stein's Fistigons into clouds of smoke.
        • Magical Power Absorption: As a fairy, le Fey has the ability to absorb magical energy and power and convert into her own, enhancing her powers and stealing powers from others. While infiltred on Abigail Harkness' coven, le Fay was able to absorb all the magical energy and power from the witches, except for Abigail and Agatha who were able to banish her to the Dark Dimension.
      • Immortality: As a fairy, le Fay is virtually immortal, being immune to age, diseases and can't be killed by anything, except for objects made of "cold iron", that can affect both her physical and astral forms.
