New Asgard

New Asgard, formerly known as Tønsberg or Tunsberg, is a city-state and enclave within the nation of Norway. Founded as the village of Tønsberg, it was visited by the Asgardians in ancient times, who left the Tesseract there for several centuries. Following the Snap, the surviving Asgardians and their allies relocated to Tønsberg and transformed the Norwegian village into the independent nation of New Asgard. In the aftermath of the Blip, New Asgard's population was restored and obtained diplomatic recognition from the United Nations due to Thor's involvement in being part of the Avengers.

During Rūna's rule over, the former warrior Volstagg went on to become a senator and represented New Asgard to the Congress of Worlds. He and his family are mainly offworld. Lord Fandral helped create a diplomatic relationship between New Asgard and Alfheim since he had recently married Queen Aelsa Featherwine, who was responsible for his survival during Ragnarök. Lord Hogun had also made some great changes for new Asgard while representing Vanaheim to the Congress of Worlds as well.^[1]

The exact population within New Asgard is mainly up to 3,193,000. Those that managed to flee before or after Asgard's destruction, most of the refugees were Asgardian civilians and soldiers alike, including those that had taken refuge in Vanaheim. Even the Vanir had also settled in New Asgard. However, in the wake of the Blip, New Asgard had welcomed over 705,000 non-Asgardian refugees, who wanted to earn themselves a place on Earth. The Einherjar and Valkyrior had also been restored on Earth, but these two ancient organizations had expanded and built their own military bases on several worlds, such as Alfheim, Nidavellir, Vanaheim, and Varinheim. Over 230,000 members of the Einherjar and 105,000 Valkyrior are currently stationed in New Asgard, and do their role in training and protecting this realm with their lives under the rule of Queen Rūna.^[1]
