Nicolette Grace Minoru is a wicca devoted member of the Runaways with her parents being founding members of P.R.I.D.E. as well as a former member of the Masters of the Mystic Arts.

In truth, it was revealed that Tina Minoru had an affair with the transdimensional demonic Faltine known as Dormammu. Tina was a member of the Masters of the Eldritch mystic arts but grew tired of the limitations of the practice and so stole the Grimoire of Cagliostro from the Ancient One's private collection. She summoned Dormammu's essence using a dark ritual taken from one of the pages which she placed into the body of her husband.

Tina offered a bargain where in exchange for power and knowledge, she would grant him an heir to his legacy. Dormammu accepted and teleported them to her bedroom where they had intercourse as Robert's body became disfigured resembling that of a Mindless one specifically around the eyes.

In the morning, Dormammu's essence was gone and Robert woke up beside his wife with no knowledge of the night but experienced massive hangover-like symptoms which led Tina to say he had too much to drink last night thus covering up the memory loss and symptoms.

When it became evident that Tina was pregnant, Robert was ecstatic to have another daughter while Tina felt uneasy about the entire situation as she knew that once Nico reached her prime, Dormammu would come for her.

Over the 9 months of pregnancy, Tina's magical strength was amplified significantly and only grew exponentially as Nico developed in the womb. During her labour, the hospital suffered catastrophically with the electricity fluctuating, nearby objects being crushed, and a nearby crane falling into the side of the building. The echo from her birth radiated across dimensions alerting Dormammu of his offspring. After Nico was born, Tina was weakened as she lost the extra power but an after effect was that she could still use the Staff of One. An ability, Nico later demonstrated.

When Nico turned 6, her dark powers began to manifest and Tina realised she could no longer hide her deceit from her husband but couldn't bear to lose him or the child she's grown so fond of. As so, Tina contacted several sorcerer friends and used magic to suppress Nico's true nature.

Return to Earth[]

Upon sensing numerous cataclysmic developments on the mortal plane such as; Wanda's realisation of her Chaos Magic, the death of He Who Remains, and Doctor Strange casting runes of Kauf Kaul which inadvertently broke dimensional barriers, Nico returned to Earth enjoying the city view while flying around the Skyscrapers.

However, in doing so, Nico disobeyed her father Dormammu who was furious with Nico choosing humans over him and so sent mindless ones to New York to who he gave solid bodies. As she strolled through the streets, a portal opened up in the middle of the street from which Doc Strange stepped out of and thus meeting Nico for the first time and revealing the threat she brought along with her.

Teaming up with Shang-Chi, Doctor Strange, Wong, and Hulk, they battled the seemingly endless emissaries of the primordial demon until Hulk cleared a path through the Mindless ones and Doctor Strange attempted to close the portal but was too fatigued to properly channel the energy of Hoggoth and so Nico joined hands with the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth and managed to shut the rift together.

Later on, the Masters of the Mystic Arts contacted Nico and told her the location of three promising young wizards - Ned leeds, who was a brujo, Sebastian Kline, who merged with the soul of Agatha Harkness' son, and Sabrina Ballard, who is a Seer and studies White Magic. Nico agreed to train them in self-control and the art of magic.

She and her new students took on the remnants of the Mindless ones who were trapped on earth when the rift to the Dark Dimension closed. The creatures hid in the sewers to avoid the sorcerers and heroes but were discovered by Nico due to her Faltine nature. Ned managed to send two of the discorporated mindless ones into the Mirror Dimension while Sabrina dissipated another with her powers and Sebastian launched lightning at a group of mindless ones. However, Nico revealed there to be dozens more as she stepped in and banished them.

As a reward for their good work, Nico used her teleportation to take them to a bar for drinks and food.

Two days later, Nico and her students stumbled onto Baron Mordo who killed a lesser magician to steal her grimoire of blood magic. Mordo fired an energy blast at them but Nico blocked it with a shield which she took energy in from Ned and retaliated by conjuring a space shard which she threw at him but was blocked by the Shield of the Seraphim. He then cast the Vapors of Valtorr which Nico blocked with a shielding spell but became distracted, thus letting the shield drop, resulting in Ned being temporarily blinded. While Sabrina was trapped in Crimson Bands of Cyttorak, Sebastian managed to knock the Master Sorcerer backwards before Nico reversed the Bands and instead bound Baron with a large band of glowing crystals around his neck and wrists. Wong later arrived and took Baron into custody before reversing Baron's blinding spell.

Personality[]

She is enigmatic, stoic, quiet, troubled, brooding, grim, moody, intelligent, and studious. Nico is a member of the LGBT community specifically being Lesbian and has a sarcastic sense of humour with a acerbic wit. After the death of her sister, Nico embraced Wiccan beliefs and attempted to practice the craft in hopes of having some "real power". Before acquiring the Staff of One, she was experiencing a challenge to her faith as none of her rituals were working but nevertheless after learning Magic she still practiced or observed some Wiccan traditions.

Joining the Runaways enabled her to open up to her friends whom she closed off for a long time. Although she retained her dark clothes and makeup in addition to her stern behavior, she was able to show a warmer side as evidenced by her relationship with Alex Wilder but then grew closer to Karolina Dean, who had long been attracted to her, and realized that she also had feelings for her. This relationship brought a significant stability in Nico's life helping her control the dark impulses of the magic afforded to her by the Staff that was tainted by her passive Faltine abilities.

Due to her usually calm and serious attitude, Nico was unilaterally elected to lead the Runaways but she also appointed Alex to be her Regent and to act as a sorta duo team: Nico being spiritual and tactical leader but Alex being the strategist. However, Nico herself recognized that she was not a perfect leader and that she might not be capable of taking this role. Indeed, Nico knew the dangers which came with power, as she sometimes experienced loss of control when using the Staff of One.

Physical Appearance[]

Nico appears as a beautiful young women around her late teens or so while with the Runaways (currently in her 20s) with a pretty well-shaped and well-maintained body build, stunning black eyes and black hair, a short but average stature of 5 foot 4 inches, and is of Japanese descent.

Staff of one powers[]

Staff of One Manipulation: Upon activating the Staff of One with her dormant Faltine remnants that persisted even after being cursed, Nico was able to command it to create and unleash a variety of effects, making her the only other user besides her mother that can activate the staff. Later becoming the only person in existence to be able to utilise it. She eventually became very powerful at using said staff despite her lack of formal training and knowledge yet still was incapable of defeating those with far superior skill such as Morgan Le Fay, however, Morgan claimed Nico's fear held her back and commented numerous times that she could be killed if Nico unleashed herself. The Staff of One makes use of Blood Magic and pricks Nico's hand to draw blood thereby powering up. According to Nico, the longer she tries to maintain the effects of a powerful spell the more blood the Staff will extract from her body which means it could be potentially lethal and has been shown to be painful for extended periods of time.
- Spell Casting: By using the Staff of One, Nico has the ability to cast virtually any spell she can think of or imagine that is not limited to any one language. However, she can only cast a spell once otherwise she invokes zero effects but sometimes misfires by conjuring stuffed pelicans. There is a way around the limitation by using a synonym or the same word in a different language. Originally, she could only use one worded spells but later learnt she could cast complete sentences and could channel supernatural effects through pure thought given the psychic connection between the Staff and herself.
  - Snowflake - Made it snow inside her mother's office when she instinctively said the word while holding the Staff after seeing her deceased sister's paper artwork.
  - Conus Silenti - By casting this spell, Nico could form a “cone of silence” over a person or area preventing any sound from penetrating the barrier.
  - Show us the way to Alex - Sensory tracking spell fulfilled by creating a series of rainbow coloured lights that followed the heat signature of his kidnappers' car.
  - Protect us! - During the Runaways' confrontation with Darius, Nico used this to create an invisible barrier of clear force that slowed down the hail of bullets that was fired causing them to lose kinetic energy and drop in mid-air to the ground.
    - Shield off - No longer in need of the shield protecting her and the Runaways, Nico used this spell to deactivate the transparent barrier (spell above).
  - Aphasia - By casting this, she was able to eliminate the sound waves released by Tina Minoru's attempts to talk thereby muting her. She was able to release the effects by mental thought.
  - Fill the Hole! - Nico used this to cause sand to swarm around a hole dug up by PRIDE in an attempt to close the crater. However, the command was cancelled out before it could finish and was implied to be capable of shutting the hole.
  - Radio on - This was able to turn on a busted radio in her room within the Hostel.
  - Tune - Unpleased with the music the radio was playing, she used this to tune its frequency to pick up a modern channel of pop music she liked.
  - Extinguish - By casting this, she was able to put out a fire by magically taking control of it manifesting as the flames turning purple before dying down completely.
  - Block! - To protect from Chase Stein's attack, Nico used this to summon a thick shield of electric transparent blue energy.
  - Spark - She used this to hotwire a car in order to steal it.
  - Hotwire! - She used this to hotwire a car in order to steal it.
  - Wall! - Nico was also able to use this in order to form a wall of stone from the road that stopped Jeffrey Wilder’s car from chasing after them.
  - Blast - This was able to fire a clear blast of telekinetic energy from the Staff's upper ring that sent Topher flying several feet backwards and damaged both him and the car he was propelled into.
  - Bend my will - This was powerful enough to destroy an advanced alien piece of technology specifically a chamber which previously proved to be extremely durable.
  - Zephyrus! - This was able to summon powerful winds that carried her to the top from the bottom of the crater manifesting as a tornado-like figure.
  - Stop the ship! - This was Nico's attempt to stop the extremely large and advanced vessel of the Majesdanians, however, it failed due to Nico fainting from exhaustion.
  - Infuse - In her rage, she cast this spell after breaking the bottle containing poison strong enough to kill a Majesdanian to infuse the lower half of the Staff with its lethal effects.
  - Sleep - This was able to put all of the Runaways’ parents instantly to sleep with them awakening hours later.
  - Pause - While she mistook it for a time freeze, in actuality this spell paralyses the body of those she wishes effectively preventing them from moving or talking but are fully aware of the surrounding environment.
  - Camouflage - She used this in order to disguise the outside appearance of the Hostel into making it look like pure mountain/rock.
  - Fortress! - This was able to turn the Hostel into a "military grade" fortress which sealed the building with reinforced steel doors preventing anyone from entering or exiting. However, she had to sustain the spell for a long term which proved painful and difficult as she had to concentrate as the blood was slowly but steadily being taken from her body. The spell eventually dropped as Nico relented.
  - Blur - She used this to blur the video feed from the Majesdanian residence's security cameras.
  - Conceal - This spell expelled a transparent force of clear energy that obscured hers and Victor's body while causing echoed image like effects when they moved. The spell hid them from being detected.
  - Hide - Nico used this to make both her and Alex invisible to the naked eye for a few moments which proved to be capable of deceiving a Majesdanians enhanced senses.
  - Shroud - This spell has the same effect as the earlier "conceal" spell.
  - Reveal yourself - This was capable of discovering the location of the person whom she has a personal object of. This seemingly needs a bowl filled with anything that then transforms into the four stages of elements; a ball of fire, pure wind, a bunch of dirt, and finally fills the bowl with water with a projection of the intended person’s location. Nico called this spell "scrying".
  - Permit my entry into night and allow the darkness to find its light - She used this in an attempt to invade the Dark Dimension but only succeeded in causing a dimensional disruption that summoned Tyler Johnson and Tandy Bowen from another universe. Apparently, this was due to them being manifestations of darkness and light similar to Karolina and Nico's divine pairing.
  - Bind - This spell manifested three sets of ropes that captured three opposing magic users.
  - Back! - This spell projected a wide-field telekinetic blast that shoved numerous people backward but proved less effective against more experienced sorcerers who was able to resist.
  - Transport! - Nico was capable of transporting herself from one location to another by chanting this spell with the Staff.
  - Reverse! - This spell was able to undo the effects of a power dampening spell cast by a fellow witch that affected the rest of the Runaways.

Faltine Powers[]

Superhuman Strength: Nico has far superior levels of physical strength compared to regular humans being incredibly strong, enough to overpower males larger than herself and compete with high-tier aliens like the Majesdanian royals as well as even briefly overpower the Majesdanian King.
Superhuman Durability: As half-Faltine, her body is denser and more resistant to physical or magical attacks or impacts. While accessing her powers, she was able to withstand a sustained blast of dark energy from Morgan Le Fay but still felt pain.
Dark Dimension Magic Generation/Manipulation: As half-Faltine, Nico possesses immense quantities of pure mystic energy with her body subconsciously generating and harnessing it from her father's realm. This also means she is more powerful within the Dark Dimension as the dimensional boundaries do not interfere with her connective absorption process. She has been stated to be practically made out of such power like other Faltine indicating that her corporal form is a mere shell for her to interact with the mortal plane and in theory she could "shed" this form becoming a creature of sole magical energy. Due to the curse placed upon her by her mother, Nico could not properly access her power but the Staff of One proved to be slowly awakening it but it wasn't until the Staff of One broke in half that she was able to completely overpower the curse enabling her to reconstruct the weapon. When tapping into her pseudo-interdimensional nature, the skin around her eyes darkens, turning purple and outlined silver similar to the Zealots but somewhat different. Nico's inherent magical signature is that of a transparent pink-purple crystalline field that typically engulfs her hands when casting a spell but when harnessing Dark Dimension energy it appears as black mist with sparkling luminescent violet energy. She is so powerful that her very feelings and thoughts could cause some sort of effect upon reality and no longer required the Staff of One, able to cast spells of considerable power with little effort. Nico commented that she now absorbs power from the things around her when in need such as siphoning from the Earth's ley lines or even the mana (life force/magical energies) from those around her.
- Pyrokinesis: As the daughter of Dormammu, Nico is capable of summoning the "flames of faltine" which are so powerful that they can literally eradicate a soul from existence if used to their full potential. This fire manifests as purple-blue flames.
- Barriers: She has the ability to project extremely durable fields of purple transparent energy that Nico can conform as needed. Using a shielding spell (scuta), she was able to counter the umbrakinetic attack from Baron Mordo (who channelled the Vapors of Valtorr) with the dark shadowy attack being blocked before dissipating in purple light.
- Teleportation: Nico can, to a limited extent, teleport herself and others to various locations and other dimensions, including the astral plane. She has been known to travel from Earth to the Dark Dimension and back rather easily at times. Nico was also proclaimed to be the doorway through which Dormammu could gain an indefinite physical foothold into the mortal universe. Additionally, by chanting "Get Out!", Nico teleported AWOL and his team to the Dark Dimension. By chanting "Tenebrae!" Nico was able to teleport the Magistrate's family elsewhere by releasing a black mist, during their fight, albeit with help from the Staff of One.
- Telekinesis: She has the ability to mentally influence both objects and people to an immense degree through gestures sometimes accompanied by an incantation in an unknown demonic language bearing similarity to the Sardinian language.
  - Shockwave Generation: By yelling "Smash!" Nico was able to send a powerful shockwave against the fight between her parents. At the same time, she destroyed the glass and flipped over the tables, severely injuring Robert.
  - Levitation/Flight: While in her darkened state, Nico was able to levitate herself off of the ground and back on her feet again. Later, while meditating, she floated above the ground. When she first returned to Earth after her time as Sorceress Supreme of the dark dimension, Nico expanded this ability and became capable of flight which is comparable to the Scarlet Witch or Doctor Strange.
- Enchantment: She, by merely holding it, imbued a light force dagger with her dark magic solidifying it permanently and augmenting its attack potency.
- Summoning: Like her mother, she was able to summon the staff to her current whereabouts. The staff didn’t have to be activated for her to achieve this. This could also have the effect of turning the staff intangible if trapped. When the staff was broken, Nico was able to recreate the staff by pulling it out of her body after it was summoned once she cut herself.
- Conjuration (limited): In a show of power to her students, Nico caused a fractal pink-purple crystal to appear floating between her hands.
  - Platform Generation: While in the Dark Dimension, she summoned a black cloud of darkness that proved to be capable of supporting the weight of three individuals whilst flying them across town.
  - Binding Spell: By making a fist gesture and focusing on a target, Nico could fiery materialise a glowing crystalline collar onto the neck of her victim which slowly strangled and burned them.
  - Space Shard Generation: Nico can form very sharp blades made from space that are warped into a glass-like material which she can easily dissolve back into the air causing spacial ripples that appear as crystalline projections.

Multilingual: She can speak both English and Mandarin. In order to utilise spells more than once, Nico began learning several languages including Latin, German, and Russian.

Threat Level[]

Small Building Level. At most Planet level possibly higher at full potential - Morgan Le Fay needed Nico to rule the entire world with no noted opposition due to her connection to the Staff of One and blood magic/Dark Dimension. Possibly higher as the daughter of Dormammu but her Faltine potential is limited by her hybrid DNA.
