Paulus was a loyal member of the Masters of the Mystic Arts and an ally to the U.L.T.I.M.A.T.U.M. led by Karli Morgenthau.

- Magic: Like every member associated with the Masters of the Mystic Arts, Paulus possesses an extremely high level of mastery over magic which he used to defend his native reality.
- Eldritch Magic: Paulus is able to shape and manipulate Eldritch Magic, in which he can form tangible constructs of energy, such as weapons or shields, as well as cast spells by writing specific formations with the fiery energy. He has also learned the ability to to form his Eldritch Whips and Tao Mandalas, the latter of which he was even capable of manifesting as large spherical barrier around himself.
- Portal Creation: Using a Sling Ring, Paulus is able to open portals that lead to different locations, gaining the ability to both move across the material world and to other parts of the Multiverse. He was even responsible in using his Sling Ring to create a portal inside the truck, thus allowing Lucia Calderon, Michael O'Toole, and Donna Maria Puentes to escape and make it to a very safe location for them seconds before the bomb was set off.
- Dimensional Travel: Using the same Sling Ring, Paulus can travel between different dimensions of the Multiverse, crossing over different planes of existence or traveling across various forms of reality.
- Energy Projection: Like many of the most talented and skilled magicians of the Mystic Arts, Paulus can also project energy blasts, streams, and bolts of fiery energy.
- Astral Projection: Paulus is capable of separating his astral form from his body, gaining access to the Astral Plane.
- Advanced Longevity: Paulus was one of the most talented sorcerers that learned the ability to extend his lifespan. Unlike Morgan Erskine, who had once drew power from the Dark Dimension which kept her alive for centuries, Paulus learned this ability from Giuseppe Cagliostro, thus allowing him to live for centuries.

- Master Martial Artist: Studying everything on what it means to be a member of the Mystic Arts, Paulus became proficient in martial arts, both armed and hand-to-hand combat, with his skill being great enough to allow him to fight off against enemies he encounters.
- Whip Mastery: Paulus was able to form Eldritch Whips which he used in various ways.
