History[]
Peter Parker's history was presumably similar to his Earth-199999 counterpart, until his fight with the Vulture on Coney Island, where a young Oliver Osnick accidentally took and got fused to the Iron Spider Suit that Tony Stark had made for him. After seeing the young boy witness his fight with the Vulture, Parker ensured he was retired to his mother safely, unaware of his possession of the suit.
Days later, after Homecoming had passed, Peter was offered by Stark to officially join the Avengers, attempting to offer him the Iron Spider suit, only for both to be shocked when it there was nothing there. Once they confirmed that it was Osnick who had taken it, Tony was able to set up a cover story for Peter as a new babysitter for Oliver so that he could retrieve the suit, while Tony distracted his mother Zelda with a potential business offer. After arriving at Ollie's apartment, Peter was shocked to find that he was not only gone, but had activated the suit and was out and about.
With Ned on comms, Peter was able to track Oliver to Coney Island, where he found him performing little charity stunts with the suit to raise money for repairs. After confronting his young fan for taking his suit and posing as him, both were suddenly interrupted by the appearance of Mac Gargan/Scorpion, who attacked them both, demanding for Oliver's suit. The two web heads teamed up to take down the villain, with Oliver managing to use his aptitude with the nanotechnology of the suit to take down Gargan with a plasma-web-cannon, driving him away.
Unfortunately, after taking down Scorpion, both Peter found out Ned wasn't the only one on the line, as MJ chimed in, fully knowing that he was Spider-Man, to which both Pete and Ollie got a bad feeling about,
After meeting up with Happy, Ned, and MJ, all four of them go with Oliver to the Waystation, where Ollie showed them all of the tech he had built and accumulated. Peter takes notice of all of the fan-merch and suit ideas, admiring the work of his new young fan turns sidekick. Soon, however as Peter attempts and fails to pry the Iron Spider container free from Ollie’s arm’s wiring and learning how it fused with him, Peter reluctantly decides to give the kid a shot as his sidekick, seeing his potential.
After some Spider-training in the suit, the two go on a small mission to stop a robbery truck from getting away with an art installation. The mission goes south quickly, and Oliver’s mom almost gets hurt before he manages to save her. Peter is able to stop the truck from getting away, but not without causing some more damage. Thankfully no one is hurt during the chaos.
Back at the Waystation, the two of them get a lecture from Tony Stark about the incident. While Pete tries to defend Oliver's shortcomings, Tony just bats him off, blaming him for letting the kid go out in the field and blaming Oliver for missing the suit. The last remark sets Ollie off, as he calls out Tony for causing the creation of 90% of the universe's villains, saying that the reason he prefers Spider-Man is that he actually takes responsibility for the damage caused and doesn't run away from people when they need it. The words cut deep into Peter, as Ollie storms off in his suit. Peter gives Tony a scolding look, feeling disappointed at his mentor. As Peter chases after him, Scorpion is not far behind, watching them from afar.
Peter finds Ollie at his father’s grave, one of the many commemorated losses from the Battle of New York. Peter consoles with him about his Uncle Ben and his death, giving him the same “with great power, comes great responsibility” line, to which Ollie adds perhaps some great responsibilities aren’t all meant to be burdened alone. Peter starts to see not only the value in Ollie as a partner, but also that even if Spider-Man isn’t an Avenger, that doesn’t mean he can’t inspire people like they do.
Just then, Scorpion attacks the tooth Peter and Ollie, stinging them with his tail, knocking them both out.
