The Salem's Seven is a coven formed by the daughters of the Salemites, Evanora Harkness' coven. After Agatha Harkness massacred her mother's coven, a witch gathered with the other daughters of the dead witches and formed the Salem's Seven, a coven of witches dedicated to revenge against Harkness by any means possible, she became known as Vertigo.
Each one of the Salem's Seven sought to perfect their Witchcraft as much as possible, eventually learning to manipulate and transform themselves into animals.
Vertigo and her coven pursued Agatha Harkness over the centuries, having several confrontations but always being defeated. With each defeat, the Salem's Seven became more and more determined. At one point, Vertigo encountered with Rio Vidal, Harkness's ex-girlfriend, convincing Vidal to ally herself with them.
At one point, the Salem's Seven encounter Nicholas Scratch, Agatha Harkness's son, who has been resurrected as a heavy damaged corpse whose soul can barely connect. They help him heal and form an alliance, where they devise a plan whereby if they are in danger of losing in a confrontation with Harkness, Scratch will use his violet warlock abilities to absorb their magic and use it to exact revenge on Harkness for them.
In late 2026, Vidal informed them of Harkness's current whereabouts and that after her confrontation with the Scarlet Witch, she was without any powers. Vertigo and her coven went to Westview and arrived at Harkness' house, and discovered that Harkness intended to undergo the Trials on the Witches' Road to regain her powers, with this, they attack Billy Kaplan and later manage to enter through the portal opened by the Coven of Chaos to summon a replacement for Sharon Davis.
Due to having entered through an already opened portal, Vertigo and her coven were not subjected to the Trials, but they could invade and sabotage the Trials of the witches of Harkness' coven, Vidal secretly helped them while pretending to be on Harkness' side. As the Trials progressed, the Salem's Seven were ambushed by Lilia Calderu on her Trial, who tried to sacrifice herself by reversing gravity and then reversing it so that they all fell on daggers, however, a disguised Nicholas Scratch intervenes, dodging all of them from the daggers, and along with Gazele, Arethis and Alias, pretend to fight until they attack him with magic, and he uses his powers to absorb their energy, power, and life force, revealing his disguise at that moment his disguise, with only Vertigo, Diarus, Laurus and Karina remaining alive.
Later, at Nicholas Scratch's Trial, Laurus and Karina attack him, and he uses his absorption powers again. Vertigo and Diarus are the last surviving members, carrying out the final battle against Agatha Harkness, and finally, Diarus loses her life and Vertigo becomes the last survivor, she has her magic absorbed but her life spared by Harkness. Over the next few years, Vertigo would continue her quest for revenge against Harkness, until finally, thanks to Lore, Vertigo reunited with her sisters in the Witches' Underworld, where they were resurrected and found a new purpose in being Lore's enforcers.
