Queen Shuri Udaku was the ruler of Wakanda. After losing her brother T'Challa, who was murdered by Killmonger, Shuri assumed the mantle of the Black Panther and earned a position in the Illuminati. Over the years while bringing order across the universe, Shuri and the Illuminati swore an important pact to protect their universe from future incursions, such as those who come from different universes within the Multiverse.
Biography[]
Queen of Wakanda[]
The lost of her brother T'Challa drove Shuri into a state of vengeance and swore to kill her cousin N'Jadaka for his role in killing her brother. After taking the Heart-Shaped Herb, she became the new "Black Panther" and challenged N'Jadaka for the throne. However, before she was about to kill him, she soon came to realize that she was becoming like her cousin and decided to spare his life rather than ending it.
Joining the Illuminati[]
After winning the throne and having N'Jadaka imprisoned in the headquarters of the Illuminati, Shuri earned a seat in the society at the request of Charles Francis Xavier, who saw great potential in her.
Personality[]
Like almost every variant from across the Multiverse, Shuri Udaku was known to be a technological genius at heart, making good use of the abundance of the rare metal Vibranium to help advance her home country. She is always willing to continue innovations for whatever she invents, believing there's no end to a device's improvement. The Wakandan princess use to be as excited to have her latest creation used by herself, her brother, etc. to see how effective it is. She use to have a childlike demeanor, in which she enjoyed to tease her brother and never having many regards to formality. However, she truly loves her family a lot and does become very concerned for her brother's safety. Not to mention that she has faith in her brother in becoming a great king and the next "Black Panther", always willing to stand by his side.
Even before and after becoming Queen of Wakanda, Shuri was a big fan of American culture, with a lot of her inventions hinted to be directly inspired by movies that she would watch with her father. She secretly dresses in American style clothing as well, such as brand t-shirts, jeans, and shorts in high contrast to the traditional or high-class clothes of other Wakandans. She also disliked traditional ceremonial clothing, once complaining about the corset she had to wear during T'Challa's crowning ceremony. She also appears to be very interested in social media, recording instances of her pranks on her brother and quoting internet memes at him. She can also be sarcastic at times and doesn't suffer fools. However, after her brother was killed by N'Jadaka, Shuri's personality changed when she became vengeful. After ingesting the Heart-Shaped Herb, she was filled with vengeance and determination to kill N'Jadaka for what he did to her brother.
Her desire for revenge changed her, in which she became arrogant and refused to listen to any of her allies. Just as she was on the verge in killing N'Jadaka, she later realized that vengeance is not only consuming her cousin, but also herself. Shuri finally was able to grieve her loss and accept the passing of her brother.
