Vellina S'Bak Fury was one of many Skrull refugees that chose to settle peacefully on Earth. During her settle, she grew attached to almost all of the world's customs and traditions, in which she became a good friend to Agent Nia Marie Jones, and even becoming the second wife of Nick Fury. Over the years while settling on Earth as a member of the Conventional Skrull Faction that sought to coexist peacefully with Humans, she began a secret relationship with Nick Fury, who had recently separated from his ex-wife Monica. After her friend Nia was killed during the HYDRA Uprising, Vellina would take on her friend's form while hiding against enemy organizations that were a threat to the world and would go on to marry Nick Fury. She even survived the genocidal Snap while her husband didn't.
Following the Blip, Vellina reunited with her husband, but had to go into hiding when Gravik Sk'ym'x and another Skrull faction were declaring war against humanity and the Skrulls that were part of the Conventional Skrull Faction. Although throughout her service, Vellina refused to kill the man she loved while she was threatened by Raavaka. She managed to avoid her assassination attempt by Gravik's goons with the help of Siriana Byll Jeeku. After Gravik's demise, Vellina overheard from Fury that the Kree decided it was time to put aside their differences and make peace with the Skrulls. Seeing that Fury truly fulfilled his part, she agreed to work closely with him onboard Peak VII as a member of the Howling Commandos, thus beginning a new age for Skrulls, Kree, and Humans alike.
However, Vellina would soon be involved against President Howard Mason had launched an all out war against alien beings, who had been settling on Earth. While many humans, who were pro-alien supporters, were being arrested during these raids around the world, Vellina, along with her her husband, allies, and Conventional Skrulls, had been fighting against the Skrull Kill Krew that had been killing Skrulls and even rescuing many humans, whose lives were being threatened by H.A.M.M.E.R. for hiding and supporting aliens living on the planet. When President Mason and Director Norman Osborn were planning to attack New Asgard, she took part in the final battle, leading to the arrest of President Mason and Norman Osborn. With the war over and peace being made, Vellina became a senator of the Congress of Worlds, in which she served as a representative for the Skrulls living on Earth.
